I love the B19 platform

After tearing down and tuning my Stoeger X10 a while back, I have realised that I truly love the B19 platform, simple, easy to disassemble and improve.
I've had a RWS 48 and it's not that I was scared to work on it, but it was just so much more complex.
Is my Stoeger hard to shoot? Yeah, but when I'm on I love the feeling. It's not a gun I'd hunt with, but man I love plinking with that thing.
Anybody else enamored with the B19 clones?

Lol for a while i owned quite a few of them and tbh, once my current stable is all worked over and scoped with scopes i like, i may buy a few more of them up.  Cheap, easy to work on, and great guns when youre done.

Not that I've done much work on mine, but yeah, I like 'em. That why I have an X20S and an ATAC.

Not quite sure I'd say enamored but my first tune was a Crosman Optimus  that was a freebie from a friend so $0 initial investment. Easy to take apart and work on, the new spring it needed and a seal were cheap from Crosman and when I got it finished and it was a nice shooter, I ended up with a jealous friend who wants hos rifle back and can't have it...lol.
The Hatsan Edges/Webley Spectors are put together pretty much the same way with only minor differences and although real nice rifles out of the box for not a lot of money, a couple small tweaks that cost less than $10 (a tube of 100% silicone and some PA pellet foam to fill the hollow stock and a .25 cent screw in the trigger) make them another much better rifle when done.
Funny way to kill time on a rainy day or with the white stuff finally coming a nice winter project.

I cannot say that I love the B19 platform but it was VERY educational.  Fortunately it is a very simple platform to work on and modify.

An added bonus is that it is so well supported by Crosman as well as after market, namely charliedatuna.com.

Yea, if it wasnt for the grt trigger, idk if i would have enjoyed my experience as much lol.  All the powerplant tuning in the world wont make a junk trigger rifle fun to shoot

The trigger in mine is the only shortcoming that my X10 has. I was going to get a GRTIII, but I figured I'd mess around with the rc bearing trick and washer mod first. I've gotten the washer trick down to where the pull is very bearable, but the break is still too stiff for my liking. So I will be adding the bearing tomorrow night.

There is an alternative aftermarket 2-stage trigger that doesn't require modifying the safety. I'm going to pick one up for the ATAC, and if it works as well as advertised I'll get another for the X20S.

I've thought about that one myself, but in the back of my mind, I'm saying, "you could take the easy way out and buy a different trigger... but you like to do things the hard way." lol.

I've already gone the route of longer than stock adjusting screws and de-burring/polishing the stock triggers, and it has been a major improvement over factory, but a drop-in for under $35 that doesn't require grinding the safety tang shorter has me curious enough to give it a whirl.

As of right now, I only have one. I do think that I might get a Titan GP again and then I'll have two. As far as I can tell, yes. If my hold is right, then every shot seems to go within about 1/4" of the last. Disclaimer: I not so good at the artillery hold- instead just try to make my hold the same everytime I pull the trigger.

I know what you mean. If I can't get the trigger exactly where I want it, I am gonna go for a drop in. I just wanna make all the mistakes I can first.

This thread has got me wondering, does anyone have a B19 clone with a thumbhole stock? If so, how would you say it compares to having a traditional stock?

Where did you get your roller bearing?  I'm having a hard time finding one (5x8x2.5mm), and if I go online they only come in packs of multiples.

If I find some, I might try the 3 mm width. Looks like that might fit, and would have a little less side-to-side play. You could only do that if you got rid of that spring in the middle, though.

I cut apart a bicycle chain. I'm not sure of the size but it worked great.

I just found a two-pack on Amazon for $5 and change, Prime qualified, so I didn't have to pay shipping. Can't beat that!

I fitted a Benjy stock to my 19 .177, which came through a friend in the trade. A couple of small marks on it, but it only cost me 12.5 dollars. Liked it a lot, so he got me another one for the .22 for the same money. Both triggers have been fitted with roller bearings from an old mountain bike chain. I just called into the local bike shop and the owner gave me a length of used chain. The links on these stretch under use, but the bearings don't get worn.
The barrels have been carbined and recrowned. Both fitted with a thing that can't be mentioned.

lovely carbine... i love mine... i found a quest (remember those?) and lube tuned it to about 820 fps with 7.9 gr pellets... grt trigger and lots of pellets through it. Mine has a small compact leupold on it, also a garage sale find... silly accurate and easy to shoot. The only thing i would like to find to finish the project is a one of those older remington shiny stocks... it came on the older summits...

I got my bearing at the local hobby shop. I think it was $2.95 for a pack of two. The bearing comes out of rc car axle shafts (I think) and can be found at almost any hobby shop that has serious rc car supplies.
And yes, you have to get rid of that spring. You get rid of it if you drop a GRTIII trigger there. I'm pretty certain it's just a lawyer spring anyways.

I didn't like mine at first,( B19's), but the more you work n them and learn how to shoot them, the more fun they become. Seeing as the cold air of winter is here, I have put my CO2 guns away for a few months, my B19's, B3's, and my lonely B2 will get a good work out as long as my arthritic arms will cock them LOL. In fact I just ordered another NP Crosman, just to have "something else" to work on Ha ha. With ingenuity the triggers can be made to an acceptable level for all around shooting and field work, but I wouldn't enter any serious matches with them. The only bad part of them is I have 4 of them that shoot real good and I don't have a reason to tear them down yet and fool around with them.

I am curious about using a part from a bicycle chain, is there anyway to explain just how this is used?
