I received a used DS today,it's in very good condition, all I had to shoot were some .490 round ball.mounted
a scope filled to 2800 fired a few at 16 yards, very impressed.however after about 10 rounds cocking lever became very hard to pull all the way back.anyone experienced this or have a fix?

I owned one I recently sold. I had that experience also. I took the hammer spring and hammer out, polished the tube and hammer, used slick 50 one lube on it and put it back together and didn't have any problems after that. Also lubed the bolt and lever with krytox. I had a 78 grain round ball I flattened slightly inserted into the hammer. Once in a while it would shift, probably during the firing cycle, and cause it to bind on cocking. Not a lot of room for error because the dragon slayer's spring is near coil bind when cocked. If you don't have a schematic, let me know and ill email you a copy of the one that I had with the gun.

Yes. I did many times. With the spring out, pull the trigger to drop the sear and the hammer will slide out. Also while apart, check your trigger and sear to make sure it is functioning properly. Make sure you do not remove or loosen any screws pertaining to the valve or front of the breech while gassed.

Your welcome! Glad you got it figured out and back to shooting. Great shooting, accurate gun. Lot of good folks here on the GTA helped me along the way, glad to give back.
