PCP air cylinder suddenly lost all air

Air Venturi Halestorm aka Hatsan AT44 air cylinder suddenly lost all air pressure during refill. Cylinder was not attached to gun. Pressure on regulator set to 180 bar. Cylinder was not hot or damaged. Air escaped in 10 seconds or less from around the pressure gauge.
Has this happened to anyone? Is there a burst disk in this gauge?

I'd check the thread sealant first. Perhaps some soapy water would give you an idea if its from the threads or the face of the gage itself.

all air tank have burst disk. I have my paintball and scuba tank disk burst quite a few times even if pressure is lower then maximum tank pressure. the copper disk sometimes just get stretch out over time. another chance is most likely your meter is broken that cause air leaks. take out air gauge and plug up the hole with any 1/4" male plug from hardware store.

BTW, how do you like your halestorm? what other pcp rifles have you compare your halestorm to? how is the trigger?

I have no other pcp's to compare it to. Am considering getting an Indy.
It's loud, doesn't load Kodiaks very well, can be a little finiky sometimes.
But it's very accurate, get a good 50 shots, I have 6 clips and on the sixth, poi begins to drop. Trigger is not a two stage, just a very long empty pull to a very hard short release.
As i read and learn, like any other gun, it needs some tlc. I like the fact that the air cylinder is removable (I have 2), threaded barrel end for you know what. Open sights. Hard to find good forums about it since it's Turkish.
Some days I love it, and hate it. My first pcp. Learning curve. As they say, you get what you pay for.
When I buy my Indy, I hope I get what I pay for....

peterdulux: did you figure out what went wrong with your air tube? is it the oring or burst disk?

Got it out with a 7/8 socket machined down. Cut the gauge open on a lathe to see the insides. Looks like the coil spring broke. I guess it's what caused the leak. Wasn't the o-ring. No burst disc inside. Some how when the coil let go, the air released.

That thing that looks like a clockwork spring is called a "bourdon tube".... It fills with pressurized air, and when pressurized it straightens out (uncoils) a little bit, moving the needle in the gauge.... You are not the first person to have a Hatsan gauge fail and leak....
