No promotion (I think?) but better

Got my Marauder fixed and went up to the range this morning to make sure everything was truely back in order.
I hit more dead on bulls at 100 yards today than I ever have!
Wind was spotty but when it would go slack, it was like being in a dream.
This was my best group of the morning, stolen before the wind decided to get all shifty.
Gen 2 Marauder .22
Centerpoint 4-16x44
H&N FTT 5.53
1.167 CTC, ringing the center green bull, 100 yards (lasered).
I had to look up the rank guide because I thought for sure I had bagged myself a promotion!
The guy shooting next to me wandered over as I was packing up because he was curious about what I was shooting. When he showed up he thought I was dry fire practicing because he couldn't hear the shots. After telling him a little about NUAH he says, "it's a pretty good rifle, any rifle, and a pretty good shooter that can group like that at 100 yards".
Very nice! Gave me a big grin as I was driving home!
By the way, I found the culprit behind my air dump last time I went up.
Had a piece shear off the poppet face which prevented the valve from sealing.
Ordered a bunch of spare o rings, a jar of silicone grease, TWO poppets from Crosman, and dove in.
Disassembly was easier than I was expecting. I honestly think it's easier than tearing apart a 2240! Sliced the valve o ring on the gauge port hole taking the valve out. First attempt at reassembly had the valve wrong way up, sliced the valve o ring again taking it back out to realign. Good thing I ordered a BUNCH of spares! Got everything back together and from what I saw this morning, everything looks tip top!
Couple interesting things I saw as far as factory settings while it was apart (I love how it's set and have left the factory settings).
The transfer port restrictor (valve metering screw?) seems to be almost all the way in. Might be tough to tell from the picture but I tried.
And the striker seems to be fairly far out.
Not going to change ANYTHING right now, just wanted to pass along how mine came from the factory.
Anyway, had fun today thanks for letting me share!

p.s. (yes it's a little self serving but...). Maybe we could look at amending the qualification for Expert to be all 5 shots within the 2 MOA ring OR a group of 1 MOA or less within the 4 MOA ring.

Nice shooting with the Marauder. Glad you got the air leak straightened out.
I like your p.s.
I've had all 5 shots in the 2 MOA ring but larger than a 1" group.

Shooting like that, look like only matter of time before you get under 1 moa. Good job! Joe

This makes me want to turn my 25 M-Rod up a little bit, maybe drop down to two mags per fill instead of three, and see how well it would shoot at 100 or greater. That is some fine shooting there Blue, I finally gave it a shot (pun intended) for membership to get started. Now I just need to get some more trigger time myself.

Great shooting!
I myself am looking forward to the day when I take my HM1000X to the local range and show the powder burners what an air rifle can do. Many would be pleased to have a group like that at 50 yards.

What good is 500+ FPE if you can't hit what you are shooting at?

Thanks everyone!
Not sure I'll be able to shoot up there again until it starts warming up so I'm settling in to a couple winter projects (building a disco and a 2250 carbine) and practicing at 10 meters.
I just talked to a friend who was out elk hunting and let another friend take a 100 yard shot at an aluminum can with his powder burner. I had to smile to myself when he was talking about what a great shot the other guy was for hitting the can one time.

So close but just over the 1" group size
I am sure you will be moving up the ranks once winter is over.

With the new Expert division rules, this target should qualify for an upgrade.... I have sent the link to marty2 as it's his final call....
