Manny, I have been following this about the Rainstorm II and am very impressed, I put in a request for one in 30 cal. For Christmas to my wife And I have a couple of questions all the air rifles that I have now have the quick disconnect foster style fittings, my air tanks and shoebox all have them, so what am I going to need to fill this rifle. Also I want to have a shot string like you have with your middle spring are them springs something Pyrmidair carry?

I'm sure you'll absolutely love the Storm .30

Pyramyd sells an adapter that is a male foster that you screw to the fill probe, nothing needs to change on your tank set up, you are good to go

Also Pyramid sells the hammersprings, get yourself a couple extra ones, clip them so in minutes you can exchange the spring and have a totally different performing rifle for different occasions

Thanks guys I got Santa right on it! I think I am going to love the Rainstorm II in 30 cal. I will put it to work shooting crows this winter when we get some snow.

Just got mine that I ordered on Black Friday from Pyramid. Had the 10 for 10 done and #1 was 908.03 and #10 was 785.32... not as hot as Manny's.
To my surprise it's a thumb hole like Manny's Thunderstorm. Don't know why, but I'm not complaining.    Maybe in the new shipment they are all that way?
I wish it wasn't raining out... anyway I have to pump her up and wait for decent weather.

Congrats Jeff! I would double check your fill pressure and/or spring, especially if that is a straight declining spring. Mine has been increasing after having it a couple weeks now.  From a starting 2800+psi fill shooting 50gr, #1-940.....#14-810 (I think it was even a bit higher). What you have is a similar pattern, just a little lower, but what counts is accurancy anyway. BTW-nice score on the TH stock!

Thanks Chris. I don't know what fill pressure Pyramid Air uses. I don't have a chrony, so I won't be able to check. Like you say... just as long as it's accurate.

Kinda weird that the same gun can come out with such a different power output ....but, than again that was the power I was expecting to be getting out of mine.

if they are starting to send out Rainstorms with the Thumbhole stock they will make a lot of happy costumers, that stock is so much nicer than the original.

I agree Manny, I was surprised as well.  Maybe just some setting/spring differences??? Im guessing it will be whatever you want. Im loving filling this up to as low as 2000psi and getting a mag out of it.

Im at a meeting with a bunch of PB hunters and they cant believe it.  Showed them the RS and they were so surprised how nice it is, accuracy and power on air and just started rattling off ideas on how they could use it.

That would be cool if the TH was made available.

Maybe take out and polish/lube the hammer ?

...maybe the gun will just need some braking it to loosen everything up and will settle more in the power range we are seeing in ours,

curious to see chrono readings after 1000 pellets or so.

I don't know how much work it will be to fit the action into it,.....but I'm quite sure I'll manage to get it done one way or an other

I'd had that stock in my wish-list for a while, Manny- for my neighbor's 10/22.  He doesn't have internet except on his phone, so when he wants something off Amazon we figure it out.

I think that would be a joyous addition to an RSII whose primary role in life is making meat and culling invasive mongoose.  The vote of confidence you give that airgun is making me reconsider my long-term intentions to buy a Sumatra Carbine.  Darn enablers!

I would love an EVOL in .30 tactical ( High End Evanix ) LOL, but it's gonna be more than twice as much as the Sniper Carbine.

That is a cool stock for sure! I was considering one for my 10/22 with heavy barrel, so I think its inletting for such which may mean you dont have as much material to mess with. Look forward to seeing that!

The Blizzard ( at lest the ones we used to get here ) is like the original Rainstorm, metal magazine with an indexing action.


On a Sidenote, Monday my new scope came in

 


But the Surf has been absolutely SPECTACULAR, so I haven't Hunted, shot or played with a gun in well over a week now

Hopefully the surf will let me do some playing around a bit soon, so I can start testing long range shooting with the .30 do that video I've planned to do,
also I want to power up my WARP to shoot the 28gr EunJin again for Hog hunting and even had an Idea about doing something with the arrows for my Claw .50 so I can practice more.

....now it's all depending on the waves

I think too the Blizzard had a longer barrel. I seem to remember reading it was around 27".
