Great job on those tunes Manny, looks like a great all around shooter for sure. I have plenty of PCP's, Sumatra, Sam Yang, Cricket, Daystate, Custom Disco's etc. but looks like the only thing I am missing from .22 to .357 cal is a .30 cal. and the Rainstorm may be next Also here is a little info that may be useful to everyone..I notice a lot of people including myself buy after market barrel bands and such for accessories. Well the only thing that always worries me is those grub screws digging into my air tube and barrel. I found that if I take a piece of weed-eater trimmer line and cut a sliver about a 1/16" to 1/8" long (depending on the clearance under the set screw) and insert it in the screw hole, then when i tighten it down it compresses nicely and firm leaving no marks or gouges on that 3000 PSI tube and holds very firmly. Just something about a screw grinding into that tube makes me wonder if it is weakening the tube....William
If I can get a good deal at Pyramid on Black Friday which .30 pellets should I get with it? Never had a .30 before...I'm not much of a tinkerer so if it shoots as good as what I've read here I'll probably keep it as is.Sure enjoying this topic...
Wow... thanks for the new picts! Very helpful. I'll probably get at least one tin of 50gr, you never know.
I believe I will get the RS2 in .30 instead of .25. After watching how this is progressing for you Manny it looks like the better buy. I already have a .25 anyway so a .30 would be the most logical one to get anyway I may have to sell my S10 to speed the purchase up lol. Manny thanks for making a detailed thread on this .30 and I cant wait for the end of the story cause I know there will be a pig or two in a pic and hopefully a video as well
Thanks for the pics on the springs, very helpful. Actually, the entire thread is very helpful I shot some 50gr JSB today, was a bit surprised by the results. My or may not be worth much, but for some who want to shoot them and not do much to the rifle, pretty good stuff! I will post in another thread not to hijack. My go to will still be the JSB 44.75 for sure, but always nice to have options!
Great looking rifle Manny, congrats. I was wondering if you would be so kind as to post the lettering on the head of the bolt that secures the stock to the receiver? I have the rainstorm in 22 cal (the bolt on mine is stamped YFS 012.9). The stock on mine is very loose. Thanks my friend and enjoy your beautiful new rifle. Thank as always.
I really like what you did with the sling mount! I bought the barrel band with the mount, but probably follow your lead on sling mount. I did not think there was an option for that!Yup, Im loving this rifle! http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=117643.0
I wondered how much pressure it would add to the tube and shroud. I like that the attachment of the rail includes another sling stud so you can have both. Will definitely be considering that!

Will definitely be considering that! One advice about putting sling studs on since the wood is pretty soft. After I drilled the holes I get some good glue in the before screwing the studs in, I use Titebond III because it dries stronger than the wood and I never had a stud pull out from many of my Rainstorms.I guess a Glue like "Gorilla glue" or some Epoxy will do great tooYes, That's what I like about those UTG units too, you can still use a sling and also you can take them off and put back on in seconds.
