Today I had some time to try the Nielsen ammo, I shot 4 mags of the EPP/UG I got some decent groups but always had a flyer or 2 and that wont do for hunting.

than I tried the 63gr bullets, 1st shot was about 10" off, 2nd shot didn't even hit my target box, could hear it tearing through the bush,...that was it, no more shooting those bullets

Also before that I did get a slightly shorter spring in there.

I have to spend one day taking chrono numbers, on this .30 on the Warp (I took one turn in on the Hammerspring ) and the Thunderstorm .25 on the current low power tune before I power it back up.

So I started testing on that shorter spring today.

And she was showing 760 fps to 780 fps on the 1st mag at 200 BAR,

so I stopped the testing there ( will check that spring again when I get my order of pellets in since I have only a few left and they show the 21th as shipping date )

I got an other spring and cut to exactly one extra coil

this is the string

44.7gr JSB from a 200 BAR fill

Yes, you can get all the springs from Pyramyd, .......I used to have a Bunch of Rainstorms so I in time collected a bunch of springs.

Literally out of the box, could only fill to 150bar (tanks low and I gave my pump away). Shot one mag to sight in, refill and one mag in ragged hole at 50yd. Thought maybe it was a fluke, but did the same on another mag after fill. Approx .75in groups. I know after some trigger adjustment, will be much better and no doubt tigher ES. I estimate 850-820, based on the test from PA. I give myself a lot of credit................for following Manny's lead-lol

I'm glad and I think you'll really like the Storm .30

I think the Rainstorm platform is really suited for the .30 cal, also I think Evanix really nailed the .30 barrel so far I've only heardgreat thinks about them and mine is really good too.

For 770 bucks this is a great gun IMO, very easily tunable, great ergonomics, not overly long and heavy, very nice sidelever and all in all a good looking gun.

Recieved the confirmation from Pyramyd that my pellets are on the way and looks like I have some time today to go down and chono the gun with that shorter spring I cut the other day, so I might just do that now

Im still into a more classic style, with a more pistol style grip. Excellent fit and finish, and yup, for the money is awesome. Love this .30!

Looks to me that if I fill to 180 BAR I will have a great multi purpose hunter, 21 great shots on tap for a day out when I could encounter Mongoose, Peacock and Hogs,......yep, with this tune she's indeed a great multi purpose hunter, than if I want to specifically do a stand Hog hunt In 3 minutes I can put the other spring back and immediately have a solid 85 FPE gun.

did I mention that I'm loving this Storm .30 ?

I think it's a little mad at me right now, and is going to stay that way until it gets some new furniture.

I was SOooo freaking BUMMED when the sling swivel came loose and caused this !

(working on getting a replacement right now).
I am going to throw that danged Quick Release swivel in the trash ! Danged thing broke the gun, and has left me high and dry for Coyote shoots, until I can get another one.
GRrrrrr ! Makes me mad just thinking about it right now !

ok, Not to hijack Manny's thread, but I will give a little history on it.
Actually, that repair, (glue / pin), had already been done once before,... before I got it.
JohnintheCamper had done the repair, and he did an EXCELLENT job. Practically undetectable to the eye.
As a matter of fact, his repair held up just fine !, ... and this time the stock broke about 1/2" below where he had originally repaired it.

He has even offered to me to take another shot at trying to repair it again, but I just need to find the time to get it up to him. I'd like for him to give it a try, but I'm honestly not expecting much out of a second repair on it this time, due to it broke into 3 pieces this time, with additional cracks too. I really doubt it can be repaired again, but if he wants to give it a try, I've got nothing to lose...even if it doesn't work, but If he CAN fix it a second time,.. then it just proves his master wood working/repairing skills once again !

Manny, I too have used Neil C. for my LDC, and even on a 200 fpe .257, it does a very fine job indeed!

Manny, how s the .25 version of the RS. I really prefer to cast for anything over .25 cal. as pellet prices are ridiculous. Grrrrrr!!!

Now with the 34gr JSB the Rainstorm .25 is a valuable gun indeed, I found the .25 don't like the Baracuda/Kodiaks but really like the Benjamin and if you tune them down they love the JSB 25gr and Predators.

If I can get a good deal at Pyramid on Black Friday which .30 pellets should I get with it? Never had a .30 before...
I'm not much of a tinkerer so if it shoots as good as what I've read here I'll probably keep it as is.
