Rainstorm II .30 "Chronicles"

Found the box last nite in my Carpot when I got home from work and unboxed it this morning after my coffee 



Wood looks very nice (nicer that it shows in the pictures )





Magazines are definitely different than those I was used to, so I'm curious to see how they work.



Chrono printout from Pyramyd shows the gun is a bit hot, so after I shot her in a bit I'll play with hammersprings,....and I have all kinds here that I can test and cut if I want to experiment.







I have some baffles to play with also and Monday I'll Email Neil Clague to order an LDC



Target from Pyramyd shows the very first 7 shots out of this gun, unbroken and with dirty barrel at 45 yards,.....I think it looks pretty promising right ? 




Going surfing right now but when I come back I'll scope the gun and start shooting away, I'll follow up on this Thread with mods and progress.

OK, I was so curious to see how the magazine works that I had to check it out before going surfing

So, Evanix gone away from that little tab that index the magazine when the probe retracts,.....I can't figure out how this new ones work but this mags are SOLID, very, very nice construction, no pellets rattle, they indeed look and feel great, will report how the work once I start shooting the gun




I have a tin of JSB .50gr left over so I'll use this one to break the gun in and also to test accuracy and will take a Chrono string in a few day to see how much it differs from the one of the 44gr




Well, I had to go ahead and scope the gun too




When I come back I'll clean the barrel and start shooting

Just did some barrel cleaning.







Didn't do a perfect job, this was the last patch



Pellets are lubed



As a side note, the barrel in the .30 cal is 20"
also Evanix has a new type of shroud support in the front of the barrel

Looks nice... seeing the magazine really drives home how big those pellets are.  This one is sure to put some meat in the fridge

Not much time today but I did some preliminary shooting



Magazine works flawlessly, the Side Lever is the common butter smooth Evanix.

The trigger I'll lighten up a bit tomorrow ( will take pictures )

The gun shot touching/overlapping holes immediately at 30 yards and it's very shooter friendly not much of a muzzle flip at all.


So far I'm extremely happy of the use of those 770 bucks

Not Quiet ....there's only really a couple inches of baffles.

Today I played a bit with the trigger.

1st I moved the blade back



Than I played with the 2nd stage, and took no time to get a very workable trigger, I actually got to the point I made it a bit to light and walked back to where I like it better.



Than out there to shoot,
I wasn't particularly looking to shoot tight groups but mainly I want to shoot away, brake the rifle in and get acquainted with It,

Magazine ? I really like it, works great, Evanix always looking to improve and definitely did with the new Mags

Anyway, I was shooting at 35 yards with about 25 Miles per hour winds




as I mentioned, I wasn't particularly looking to shoot groups,.....but I had to take a picture after my first mag (7 shots) this is the 3rd overall magazine out of this gun for me



All together I shot 8 mags, 56 shots, shooting 2 mags per fill and definitely the 2nd mag walks down in POI

......here are 56 pretty quick shots at the same POA

 




I have enough 50gr pellets to take Chrono readings tomorrow before I get in and play with the Hammerspring and move to the 44gr JSB



Just over a day with this gun and I'm extremely Happy with it,.....didn't think about a .30cal until a couple weeks ago and I'm sure glad I got one

Excellent info and pictures. What a great looking rifle. Do you plan to hunt with it? if so, what? thanks for posting. I've never thought about a .30 caliber, but now..........................
