Variable electronically driven hammer system

So as I'm tuning my Marauder it occurs to me that it would be nice if the hammer system could be designed to put a variable amount of pressure based on an external adjustment. My mind went through the electronic valve routes, but that seemed too complicated for my abilities. Current stock and SSG adjustments are too cumbersome to work with on a shot-to-shot basis.
What did seem reasonable was a hammer driven by an electromagnet rather than a spring. Now I'll be the first to admit that I don't know that much about how that would work, but I'm sure there are people here that could weigh in. I will also be the first to admit that a lot of my ideas are half-baked and never see the light of day. So if this is unreasonable please tell me so I can stop thinking about it.
Is it possible to control the magnetic output enough to generate enough force at high fill pressures to control the valve opening to the necessary degree? High capacity rechargeable batteries are pretty cheap. An electromagnet is a very simple device to make. The variable input power is what I'm am least confident with.
Are there other things I'm not thinking about?
Of course with the added ability to get air tube pressure in real time you could probably easily program a chip to figure out how much energy was needed for any given moment, but that's wishful thinking.
I'll beta test any prototypes.

An option might be a solenoid valve. The time it's activated could be controlled by using a variable width pulse to operate it.

Scott Hull ( Scotchmo ) made one for his marauder based pistol and abandoned it after IIRC less than a season of fiddling.

Solenoid hammer, Daystate uses that in their electric guns and Baikal uses it in Drozd.

My searching didn't turn up any of that, so at least I have some things to read up on. Thanks everyone.
