Running the Disco .177 on CO2

Today I decided to run my .177 Discovery on CO2. The temp here in SC is 86* so the pressure was around 1100 psi on the gauge when full. I setup the chrony and used H&N BARACUDA HUNTER 10.34g and set my Crosman power adjuster to 1" from breech bolt cap to the front of the knurled knob. I achieved 93 shots before tbe gauge hit the bottom of the green section for CO2. The first 67 shots were within 10 fps ranging from 654 - 644, at shot 93 the fps was 544 fps but at 20 yards the poi didn't change for 80 shots, after which the velocity fell below 600 fps.
So in conclusion if you have a Disco and have the warm weather you can get 80 shots from a high of 9.8 fpe to a low of 8.3 fpe. The only other Mod I have done inside is clipping 2 coils off the hammer spring.

No problems with co2,it's a very viable power source for Discoveries and gives a lot more (lower power) shots than air. so long as you don't shoot fast enough to cool the gun down and seriously lower co2's pressure, doesn't really change the accuracy.
Actually, it's good to see another airgunner not obsessed with power.
The lower the pressure a PCP is deigned to work at, the better it takes to co2 use. PCP tuned for 3K operation doesn't do nearly as well on co2 (lets just say 900-1000psi) as does a rifle made to run at 2K.
Even at the same PSI, helps to think of co2 as a "thicker" gas, so will give lower speeds. Not really exactly the physics of it, but thinking of pouring catchup vs vinigar is a good enough alnalogy.

Been shooting both calibers of my Disco on CO2 for several years. I have no desire for more power as I'm shooting JSB Exacts 15.9 gr at 635 FPS and JSB 8.4 gr at 760 FPS. They are both bone stock That will accomplish all my pesting needs. I've been bulk filling for years for my QBs, 2400 KT, Daisy Avanti 888 and the Discos. For cold weather (we don't get much) I switch to a springer and a pumper. Ain't life good?

I just picked up a Racine Blue Streak that puts out 13.5 fpe on 8 pumps with 14.3g cylindrical pellets. We have a group from work going hunting this fall with only airguns. If its not above 70* I will bring the Pumpers.

I agree, not obsessed with power. Love the shot count on co2, and the less power it gives me on my Talon.
I would love a .22 caliber Gunpower.
It's the 12fpe version of the airforce Talon ss, it gets 500 shots per 490cc tank.
But airforce won't sell the parts or tell you what to use to retrofit their guns to a 12fpe gun.

ON THE DATE WHEN US TROOPS ARE ISSUED AN Energy Pulse Weapon,
1. The US Soldier will have on his person a version of the Colt 1911.
2. He will be aiming the NEW Weapon at someone carrying an AK47.

I've been running my Talon-SS 22 on CO2 for the past 2 years, since I only shoot in my backyard.
Winter shooting is starling plinking time when the weather is cold enough to get them in my killzone.
This winter I'll try tethering my Disco to a 12 oz tank for the season.
I shoot off my dining room table through a gunport, so temp will be a steady 72 degrees.
Saves my sore old back some grief from pumping.
MRod will stay on HPA as I don't want to fiddle with the setup alterations.
Hope to provide plenty of starling-sickles to my neighborhood redtails again this winter.

Ran my Gen 1 MROD on Co2....awesome shot count and since I shoot 99% indoors was never an issue with temps.
