Today I took some time to chrono the Claw
20 yards 1st shot
I learned not to shoot groups with this set up
So I was shooting, recording the speed, retrieve the arrow and so on.
After 8 shots the backstop started to fail so I stopped there
the 8 shots where all really tight, I made more damage to the target taking the arrows out than they did going in
Anyway here's the numbers :
So, I'm shooting a 560gr arrow at low power and starting at 160 BAR
388
390
386
386
388
390
388
386
I can assure you that a 560gr arrow with a good broadhead at those speeds will go through any big game in north america.
The low power option is a very valuable option for this set up both for target shooting and hunting, being able to shoot at lower air pressure is also a plus.

Now that's sweet super tight string and obviously accuracy as well!

Sure is !!!!!
also I forgot, I was shooting yesterday ( mainly offhand or kneeling like in hunting situations ) I was shooting from 10 to 30 + yards and POI difference was negligible in a real hunting situation, very, very accurate set up, Can't wait to hunt it .

Much more consistent speeds than I would have guessed. Seems like one heck of a shooter!

looks very accurate, gonna send it to[ will] for a trigger job?or is it fine for you the way it is?don't seem to hurt accuracy, and on low settings i bet its quieter and get more shots.are the arrow's carbon fiber, fiberglass, or aluminum?

The arrows are carbon, the gun isn't all that loud at all,
I see this 1/2 power cocking a great option on many levels, I don't really see any reasons to have the arrows going any faster than this and you get a very nice flat string, less noise and a lower necessary fill, all good points in my opinion
I was actually really, really surprised by how flat that string was

Ok, so I've been hunting a handful of times with the gun but I had no luck finding porkers.
I don't really practice with it either because it's a royal pain getting the arrows out of the target,....than the other day something popped in my mind.
taking a break for working on the storm stock I'm replacing the field points with blunts, I'm hoping the arrows wont penetrate as much so I can actually practice with the gun.

IT WORKED !!!!!!
I got a sheet of ply between the target and my bales just in case it didn't work, but the arrows never made it that far
BTW, this gun is going hunting tomorrow

Ho yeah, and since the blunts punch a clean hole taking the arrows out is much easier than with the field points.

OK then,
My field testing is completed now that I finally managed to take a Boar with those bolts.
So now, since the gun is going back to Pyramyd I'll write my final thoughts about this new set up and them Moderators can if they want move this thread to the Review gate if they think this is the right thing to do.
Sam Yang guns have been out there for a long time and there tons of reviews about them,
this Claw is no different from any Sam Yang I had in the past, really solid build, beautiful wood, very nice comfortable ergonomic hunting rifle to carry around, trigger was the standard very heavy Sam Yang ( I had Will Piatt in the past tune some triggers on this guns and they came out really nice ) this gun was untouched and the heavy trigger isn't as noticeable when shooting arrows IMO.
I never shot any lead out of this gun so I can't comment on that for this particular Claw, but I used to have one in the past and was an accurate gun indeed.
So, I concentrated on arrow shooting and if you go back on the thread you can see that I settled in shooting only at half power and got a very nice flat sting with a good amount of shots, to me Half power is really all you need to shoot this set up ( you can check in my gate how the arrow after complete passthrough on the Boar still had tremendous velocity and completely destroyed the tough broadhead on impact )
Accuracy ? I immediately realised that shooting groups was not a good Idea
I busted arrows the very first time so yeah, this set up is very accurate
In the end I truly believe that this is an extremely deadly option for hunters, combining the accuracy of a scoped rifle with the devastating capability of an arrow is just a total nightmare situation for any critter out there.
I think I covered pretty much everything important throughout the thread but if you have any questions I'll do my best to answer.
Thank you to Pyramyd for giving me the opportunity to have this gun for several weeks, I really enjoyed.
