Jesse I've never been to that part of the state before so at this point I can't see ever heading up there unless it's just to see you. That said, one day I'd like to take the family up to that part of the state for a day or so just to check out a part of the state we've never been to.

I was trying to adjust for a curve but I think I ended up with very close to a flat line over 2 magazines, 18 shots, but I'm not certain I remember the speed. I know a few times I dipped into the 500's and that's when I load a new magazine and fail to cock the gun when putting the magazine in so by the time I do cock it there's 2 pellets in the chamber. I wish there was a way to put in a magazine w/o cycling a round in the chamber but there isn't.

Don't you HATE that? I did that when I first got the Gladius. I once got three pellets chambered. Thankfully it didn't damage anything. I finally got used to the cocking mechanism, and haven't done it since though. I wish there was a way to prevent this.

I also wish there was a way to automatically indicate how many pellets you've shot out of the clip.

I think I'm gonna mark one of my clips with a sharpie to see if I can figure out how to insert the clip so that the mark winds up in the same place everytime at the end of the clip.

 Try numbering all of the cylinders that might solve both problems.
Glen, what power settings did you have that on was it maxed out

I think they are both great guns in their own way.  The Bullboss is a bit rougher than the Gladius, but it takes to "fun time" a.k.a. modding a bit easier I think.  Both have been tack drivers.  I, along with another shooting a different Bullboss were nailing 4" gongs at 100 yards easily.  I also saw the Gladius doing it as well.  I even managed to tag the 150 yard 4" gong a few times.  I think Glen was working on getting his shot string down more so than targets, so I'm not sure how his was in the accuracy department.  We'll have to let Glen chime in on his accuracy.  I assume it was great like the others.  The other Gladius was .177, and he also tagged the 100 yard gong. 

I did some more shooting today with my Bullboss, and I was shooting dime size groups at 50 yards, and that was with hollow points   The fit and finish do appear to be a little better on the Gladius, but it is a more expensive gun.  It also has the power adjustability, so it is more flexible.  I thin Glen's gun was shooting in the low to mid 700s in .25, and that was only on power level 4.  I'll also add that Glen's .25 Gladius was crazy quiet shooting at power level 4 when I was listening.  Of course, all of the Bullboss and Gladius I seen have been pretty good in the sound department.

I'm perfectly happy with my Bullboss.  Jim with the .177 Gladius seems to really like his.  I can't speak for Glen, but I think he likes it.  Poor Glen has spent more time tuning than putting lead on targets   The other Bullboss was .22 like mine, and it belonged to Steve.  I think you've already spoke with him.  Long story short, I think they are both great guns, and I'd be happy with either one.

There were 2 Bullbosses at Jesse's and I didn't shoot either. There's a lot of guns I didn't shoot because I was either zeroing in the scope on my 95 or adjusting the power curve on my Gladius. So I can't compare but I am quite happy w/my purchase. I feel this gun gives me room to grow as a shooter; there are things I'm still learning about it and shooting it. For decades I could sum up my pellet gun experience and knowledge in a .177 springer. A .25 PCP with a 6 level power adjuster is a whole new world and I'm still having fun exploring. I've probably got 600+ pellets through it at this point and 400+ of those were sheer chrony bait, not even aimed at anything. I'm wondering if I should clean the barrel at some point. I still don't have the dinning room table, my work space, cleared of leftover inventory yet but it's slowly happening. The 3 biggest things that would progress my shooting right now are: a place to shoot, a tank fill system and good shooting rest/platform. But hey, a year ago I didn't even have either of these Hatsans so it'll happen in time.

I already had one of the bottles full from last time I cleaned out the trap, so I probably got around 8 or 9lbs of pellets out this time.  I have about 16lbs of pellets I've collected at this point   I think it would make some "special alloy" bullet casts with the H&N/Sig copper plated pellets mixed in with the JSB, H&N, Crosman lead in there.  Oddly enough, the pellets that were closest to the back of the trap were the 25.39 .22 monsters that I sent in there.  They were pushing 50-55 fpe, so they do have some good penetration.

I don't guess you have posted plans somewhere or used plans already posted?

I have a large plastic sugar container with the snap on lid that I drilled holes in the bottom of.  I'll fill it up about 1/2-3/4 with the rubber mulch out of the trap and shake'em out.  It works pretty good.  I just get a large black trash bag that I lay put on the floor to shake the pellets out onto, and then I just pick them up.  I put the larger pieces of mulch that don't come out into a box that I later put back into the trap, and throw away the smaller pieces/debris.  I just top off the mulch in the trap with some new mulch when I'm done.  It is a little tedious, but not too bad.  I've only had to clean my trap out twice out of 6-8 thousand rounds, so it isn't like I have to do it often or anything.

Good evening all, after the great event at Jesse's and some considerable soul searching I have let the returning .25 cal cravings get to me and I am going to sell the .22 Bullboss. Not because I did not like the gun, ( I do) not because it did not shoot well, (it does) and not because there is anything at all wrong with it, (there isn't) but because the P12 is my goto .22 cal air rifle and I am craving something else again in .25 or .30 now. (That Jager sure looked enticing). If you know anyone that might be interested have them PM me. In a few days I will post it on the classifieds, so I can help fund my next adventure... Steve

If you're talking about the trap, then here's the quick description...  It is a box that I made 13"high x 13"wide x 10"deep.  I made it that size so a 12" foam square(1"thick) would sit in the front and hold 12" targets.  I hinged the front and cut out about 10" square opening, and made latches at the bottom to hold the front shut.  I then filled it up with rubber mulch.  Anytime I want to change the target or the foam square, I just unlatch the front and change it.  It's pretty simple, but it works wonderfully!

Didn't you say you were thinking about a Bullboss?  Looks like Steve is about to sell his ^^^.

Looks like I'm going to be all alone again as a Bullboss owner   I'm joking of course.  Good luck finding your next toy!

On a side note, Jesse, I just watched a video review of the FX 400 Royale  with the smooth twist barrel, and he shot quite a few non JSB pellets through it, and they were shooting pretty good...  I only say that, because you were saying you didn't think it would shoot anything but JSBs well.  You may want to test out some other stuff with your Impact...  Like maybe some Barracuda Match or for hunting the Polymags and H&N hollowpoint variants.  Did I leave those PDG Bombs over there(can't remember)?  If so, give them a try too.

Steve I saw a thread where someone was asking for shot count data for, I think, a Vulcan and a Cricket in .25. That Cricket was, I think, upwards of 45 shots on a single fill, which in my book is awesome for a .25. I'm positive that's filling higher than a 200 bar Bullboss though and I don't know if you're interested in another bullpup or not. If so, I'd check out the FX Wildcat in .25 also.

Thanks Glen, I do like the Bullpup form factor, but the deciding factor will be light weight for field use. Those two guns, used, might be in the same price range as the Jager...  :-)

I really like the look of the Vulcan Tactic too.  It has a smaller air cylinder than the Cricket, which may be better for a pumper like Steve.    It was the Vulcan getting 45 shots at 45 fpe, and the Cricket was getting 55 shots at 55fpe.  I'd be happy to own either one of them!

I looked for you guys at the airgun show you missed a great event every thing in one place I was the only one with a jager. I got rid of 3 guns and got one new to me airgun, pellets fill adaptors books tee shirts and got to see old friends, and shot for bit.
