Benjamin Bulldog Question ?

I sent you an email too but I sent those EPP slugs out this morning and some BBT 126 grain for you to compare.  The BBT are heavier so will come out slower but of course have a much higher BC.  Curious how they do in your gun.  In my Bulldog the BBT did the best out of probably at least 50 different slugs I tried in it.  Others said they were not the best slugs in theirs so I would like to get comparison so I can make the best suggestions to people.  Mine is taken apart and so I have nothing to test with.

I got your bullets today, they look great. I sent him a pic and will hand them over to him tomorrow and he is getting his gun ... if he turns his back on me I just may need to borrow it for a few years  ;-  )

Will Pratt tune adds a lot to cost but really makes a Sam Yang sing. Last I looked on his website he was back to taking guns shipped from Pyramid Air. Meaning he's not a year in back log anymore. Saves in the shipping, guns direct from distributor to him then he sends you the tuned gun. Does wonders to the trigger and will add 50% power.

I have a few 22 cal Career 707's and a Sumatra 25 ... awesome guns. The Recluse is an option I have been looking at too. I do though like the magazine of the Bulldog for a short range pig blaster. The intended purpose is different for this gun than all my others.

MY buddy who just got it said, don't be confused by some of the pictures .... this is a BIG gun ... I will see it tomorrow.

Well, I went over to my buddies house and looked at the Bulldog ... it was different from what I had expected ..... the gun is big, yes, but ... The gun Is not a POS as I have read from some of the reports. The plastic is not a cheap flimsy feeling unit, the gun is made pretty solid. The gun is very easy to uncock, the magazine is very, very nice, I like the sling swivel location and the Picatinny rail system is nice. The gun is lighter than it looks The fill cover that just about everyone complains about is not bad either and it is not as flimsy as I thought it was going to be.

Sooooooo -  I went to Crosman.com, got a 20% discount and Friday free shipping, total bill was $679.00 and ordered it. Testing will begin when I receive it.

Good luck with the Bulldog ! I think you will like it.  As each day goes by I like mine more. I wasn't a fan at first but liked some of its features and the power. Then got a chance to pick one up direct from crosman for just over $600 shipped. Couldn't pass that up. Mine sadly don't like the bbt's. JSB pellets shot tight and hard out to 55 yards. Best shooting slug so far is the 142 grain HHS. Havent tried Mr. Hollow points yet.

Oh' and don't leak a bit.

Cheapo ammo? JSB pellets impress with how hard they hit. Even shot against Noslers and others into soap, wet and dry sand, and 12 guage plate steel @35 yards they amaze.. Plus they are consistent accurate !
Proper and repeatable hold will reward you with tighter groups I found. A hassle kinda but worth it.
Only thing I really don't like is how often I have to pump it back up. Lol and the black color I didn't have a love affair with but I fixed that.

Nice camo job, your gun looks great. My cowboy ammo was $9.00 per 100 and much less when you buy 500ea. I bought 100ea 105gr and 125 gr pills .... We will see how they do :- )

Just bought a couple sizers, a .357 and .358 along with the push rod from N.O.E. I'll probable get it next week, will pick up the sling at Wally World tomorrow..... I may have a case ?

Wally World sling is bought, cheapo ammo is on the way, scope has mounts/rings attached to scope and ready to install on gun, bi-pod is off stage ready to be attached. My cool decal is already to put on if I decide ... same one that is on my 257 ... the initials NCFOM -- You DO know what the letters stand for, don't you ? 

No camo on this gun as it stands now, just maybe this decal if it looks good and a few cool logos ;- ) When I get through with her she will be looking pretty tight ------

Using the 20% discount and buying on Friday when the shipping is free saves a lot of money ... much cheaper then AGD or PA  ;- ) ..... who knows if they will have any deals better with the holidays on the horizon ?

A month late on the answer, but ya, I can live with that very well. After my modifications today I would love that kind of group at 50 yds. I hope I get in the mid-ish 800fps with 125gr slugs after removing the valve spring and opening up the ports from .201 to .234 ? Removing the piece of paper that was left in the valve by one of Crosman's best may help with my velocity too. :-  )

I don't expect to get the kind of speed you are getting, I just want to up mine from 795 to 835 + if I can with 125's. I figure the removal of the valve spring from what I have read is about 35fps ... and the opening up of the valve port to match the slightly larger barrel opening at .234 should give me another 20-25fps .. I would think ... I don't think the paper in the valve was helping me to much either ;-  )

That is exactly what I paid for mine. So far one of these guns is enough for me - this is a very specialized gun in my books. like my 257 Condor. They both have to much power for the area I live in and where I shoot. Very rarely do I have a clear 600-800 yards before there are ranch houses or roads. Both these calibers, for me, are for large predators, or hunting pig should I go out of state.

After I sight this gun in at 50-60 yards ... she will be used once in a while for coyote in California (where I can shoot it), and once in a while at a range. The 257 is a little more shooter friendly because of the shroud not drawing attention, but it has actually a longer range ... I don't shoot this gun often either because of lack of good backstops in my area. I have just one area that I have a clear mile of no houses and no people.

I'm very cautious of where I shoot as whatever can happen, will happen !!

In general, my 25 cal Condors shooting JSB KH's at 950+fps are about all I feel semi comfortable with when I'm shooting in the desert on flat land.

the bulldog has great reviews across the board, good accuracy, and is truly affordable..I actually think it set a high bar in big bores .. The bad reviews i see ( which you touched on ) are people buying it for backyard plinking, then dissapointed its too loud or powerful.
