UPS ain't much better than Fed-Ex anymore in my eyes.

UPS Tracking updated to delivery today (Monday) by the end of the day... but still only had last status as the arrival scam (no typo) at 2:30pm last Thursday.
No show AGAIN! Checked UPS for my course of action.
 "After 24 hours of no scans item is considered lost.... contact seller who should file a claim."
Seller says they will handle it but wants to contact UPS first.... DANG!

My UPS delivery guy is definitely the best around. He always rings the door bell and waits for me and the most important thing my dog so he can say hello and give my dog his doggy bone! He has also told all other UPS drivers that fill in for him to make sure to do the same.
He also ask how things are going and chats for a minute or two then gives my dog another bone before heading back to his truck.

I kinda figured USPS and Fedex were in cahoots because I've had a few items that  originally specified Fedex as the shipper and after doing tracking it said they'd be coming USPS but they were always on the day that the tracker said they were going to be.

I've had pretty good luck with all three; especially, USPS Priority Mail.  What does get my goat,  and me on edge, is the late delivery by UPS.  The Tracking Log states delivery to be between 12:15-4:15 PM and the package doesn't arrive until sometimes as late as  8:00 PM.   Maybe this is a Monday thing?

All my UPS deliveries always saw By the End of Day when I check the tracking. It will say by Noon if I select early delivery when ordering.
Most of my UPS deliveries are between 5 PM and 7 PM but have seen them as late as 9 PM.

Maybe I should select hold at local distribution center as it is only 3 miles form my house and the counter opens at noon

Just to be nice I always hand over a bottle of beer as a tip when something gets delivered. Just make somebody's day, plus it seems somehow make my deliveries go a little smoother. Even if nothing is delivered to my house , they all beep the horn when passing.

20 or so years ago a friend of a friend was a UPS driver and used to go out with us once in a while for a beer.  He said he always carried dog bones in his pocket in the event he encountered an unfriendly dog while delivering.  He said he had been at several houses where dogs were on a very long leash or chain and could cover the entire front of the house and/or garage, and gates going to the back door.  He said these dogs became very friendly once he threw a dog bone at them, but said he kept giving them a bone every time in case they forgot one day who he was, or they were PO'd he didn't give them one
Nowadays I think they can refuse delivery or hold it at your nearest facility if you have a dog in the way of the door, but they have to leave a note somewhere where you see it, somehow...

OK giving beer to someone who is driving... Yes, that could explain some of the delivery snafu's   My UPS delivers are always between 5pm and 8pm like some of you guys, and when they are busy or around the Holidays - 9pm.  I don't care as long as they deliver on the day they are supposed to.

This week, I received a package that FedEx carried part of the way.  They handed it off to USPS and it came to my PO BOX.  I try to get all my stuff delivered to the post office for safety.  However, USPS doesn't handle the rifles.  I make it my business to track the rifles; and I am at home when they are supposed to be delivered.  The service here is GOOD to VERY GOOD.

I have a wife that works over night as a NICU (Neo Natal ICU) RN so last time I was expecting an AG delivery that required a signature I requested a late delivery 6 to 9 pm So when I got home there was a note on the door from 1pm ,  checked tracking and it said scheduled for the next day between 8 am and 5PM PS I paid extra for the late delivery. So I called FEDEX and lit a fire under the supervisors keester my package arrived 45 minutes later

Last Jan, I ordered from Amazon

The day it was to show up,
I checked there web site and
it showed that it was del. to porch
I go outside and see snow, I have to shovel
all the way to the road to get mail.
I then asked Amazon who hands me off to
FailEx, they ask what color is my house?
I tell them to ask driver.
after a couple hours of fighting amajoke
I get a refund.
I reorder, they hold my order for a week
I finally get it a week later.
It shows a hundred feet less than my know good unit.
I call caldwell, they tell me that they will
ship a new unit WITH a return label for bad unit
a week or so later I get the new one WITHOUT a return label.
Fine I'll just keep and see if they follow up on it.
NOTHING! (many years in the business I know how return labels look and work)
So,
A couple more months go by and I'm outside and see
in a snow drift between our house and the next door house
a big box soaking wet,
I wade thru the snow and get the box
Inside is the first unit sealed and unhurt.
And that is how I got three units for ordering one.

If I was a driver for any place,
I'd take a picture of every package I left anyplace
to cover my backside.
Digital is only a moment to push the buttons.

USPS is really my favorite shipper.  Good delivery times for the price and my experience is better reliability than the other two.

Everyone loves to bag on USPS, but considering how much junk and bulk mail they have to handle, they do a pretty good job overall and the price is unbeatable.

Up here in northern WI all my Fed Ex packages get pushed off to the post office so all deliveries are always 1 to 2  days behind expected deliveries. I will not do business with certain venders because they use Fed Ex and package deliveries are whenever the post office gets them here, very irritating at best.

I'm not sure weather its coming through FedEx or what, but a family member ( my grandmother 😁) ordered me a Williams 5dsh peep sight for Christmas . It was scheduled for delivery yesterday, which was perfect because she's coming to stay for a few days starting Monday. But now it has been rescheduled for monday, so I just have to hope that I get lucky and it comes through the mail as it would arrive in the morning before she leaves for my house.
If not I'll have to wait till Christmas which means i have to bring my Sheridan and my tool box with me so I can mount it and give ol' blue his first real test shots since he came back from getting resoldered by mac1.

I really hate having to wait for things to arrive in the mail, but for some things it's the only way.

I'm a FedEx contractor and a lot of the problems come from the companies shipping. The problems with the failed deliveries that say "business closed or not at home" is just a lazy driver if it's being shipped to a residence and not a signature required delivery. If a package says its scheduled for Monday just for example and then last minute is changed to Thursday, that would probably mean that it got damaged at some point in the shipping process and was sent back to the shipper and they had to re-ship it so the process basically just started over.

FedEx is the worst. Plenty of times the tracking updates made me look like a complete fool. We put a man on the moon and yet we can't figure out how to track packages with accuracy. I avoid FedEx whenever possible.

FedEx does pretty well here. UPS...frustrating. Order tons of stuff online. Couple months ago I had ordered something that I was tracking like a hawk...not unlike my 2 new guns that I'm watching right now. lol...anyway... My package showed out for delivery on the day it was supposed to be delivered. Waited and waited and waited. We literally live 3 minutes from the local UPS. Finally about 9:30pm I see that it says it was delivered "to the box." Hmmm...Never saw anyone. No package. I call UPS. They confirm it was delivered "to the box" and asks if I have a box. I say I have a mail box. They say that they don't deliver to the mail box. Mail box is a 250' from the house. I walk out there and sure enough my package that is well bigger than the box looks like it's been driven into the mail box with a sledge hammer. Had to cut it to pieces to get it out. Unbelievably, contents were ok. Still waiting on a UPS supervisor to call me to confirm that they don't deliver to mail boxes.
