I'd be interested as well having one regulated but the only regulator I've seen installed was the Altaros which didn't even incorporate a plenum spacer. Velocities really dropped off. The installation was a no drill and pretty slick though.

No flat part of the string, just a constant drop in velocity?

I would go with Robert Lane as he has the best service and support of all the regulator manufactures I have worked with. if you ask he will dend you detailed instructions on the ideal hammer weight and valve spring tension allong with parts to adjust them.

100% agree!

Lane makes a great reg, and he is the only manufacturer that took all the time and effort to make SEVERAL videos on installation, tuning, theory, and troubleshooting. He has a whole Youtube channel devoted to it.

One thing I'd like to mention, with whatever reg you go with, you may only get average results by just dropping it in. Be prepared to clip springs, lighten hammers, etc. to get the most benefit from installing a reg. It's not difficult or out of anyone's abilities but it is tedious sometimes.

Either way, you likely wont regret the effort.

I've had a Daystate Huntsman Regal for several years and love it.  I've thought about getting a regulator for it and looked at the Huma.  The only one they make for the Huntsman Regal is rated for 75-100 bar (16-20 Joule).  I wanted one that would not require any serious modifications to the rifle, such as drilling holes in tube.  The Robert Lane site is temporarily down so don't know if his regs. need any special modifications to the rifle or not.

Scott is a very respected tuner, I would go with his suggestion. When I get my bills under control I would like to get a regulated Regal XL.

Regulated by AAS510 carbine and asked around about the suggested rgulator to use. Motorheads's recommendation was the Huma from Airgunsupeority. Well they were out so being impatient I went with the Lane regulator. Don't know if I just got a bad one but I was getting some erratic velocities every now and then along with a wheezing noise after some of the shots. After visiting with Robert a couple of times and not getting anywhere I pulled the Lane and by then the Humas were available, ordered it,installed it and never looked back. It performed flawlessly. Nick at Airsupiority was great to work with. He sent me the regulator unpaid for and told me to try it. If I liked it pay him if I didn't send it back.
Probably just a isolated instance with the Lane but that was my experience.

I know this is an old thread, but instead of starting another thread I would to ask if any members have put a regulator in a .25 cal Huntsman Regal XL and have some before and after data of the modification.

Just a Gut Feeling .... because .25's use so much air, the size plenum required your going to loose a lot of HP storage volume & shot count is really going to suffer.
.22 Regals regulated do great at modest power but also have trouble with shot count it asked for power much above 27-28 ft lbs or so.

JMO tho  & your mileage may differ

I had a good experience with Huma and Trenier Outdoors. Purchased a HUMA for the Maximus. Ported the valve entrance, outlet, angled it, ported the tp, and did some hammer work.

the Reg was giving odd numbers. Called Jeff at Trenier, and he sent a new Huma while telling me to keep the original in the gun until the replacement arrived. Which it did in just a few days.

Installed the new Huma, and WOW!!! Now this is what a regged AG is all about! Went from 18-19 shots, at 28 fpe,  installed the stronger valve retention screws, for a higher fill, and now get 35+ 27 fpe with JSB 18's.

i could not possibly be happier with the Huma!
