Any cheapish way to get into PCP?

So, I'm hooked. I'm starting to make long-range plans to acquire (salivating over) the Eun Jin Sumatra here:

I love the futuristic yet cowboy look (makes me miss Firefly/Serenity!), and its performance seems to be impressive, for me at least.

Problem is, pumping it up seems pretty expensive. The hand pump (which requires actual work, sadly) is $200, and a compressor for that sort of thing seems to cost thousands.

Are there any cheaper compressors fo 3000 PSI or pumps?

Also, which caliber (.177 .22 .25) is recommended?

Filling options are as follow;
 1: Hand pump- ~$200
 2: SCUBA/SCBA- ~$200+ ~$5 per fill (varies)
 3: Shoe Box Compressor- $400 +$200 for primary compressor and other essentials
 4: SCUBA compressor- $3500 and up. Gas or electric

For a good hand pump that is about the cheapest price you will find($200/300), the compressor you could check out the shoe box pump, with a good tank an adapter I say you could stay around a grand? The caliber would really be based on what you want to do with the gun? But a .22 cal. cover's target an game nicely.

So with a shoe box pump, I would be more than doubling the price of the gun, and the pump still makes it about $650 total....  so I'd have to reaaallly want it. Thanks for the help
