Hi All,
What is the safe minimum distance from an airtube regulator vent hole to either of the regulator input or output end orings? Also does it matter which oring is closest to the vent hole? I don't think it matters but I just want to be sure.
Thank you All in advance for your help!

As long as the O-ring can't get to the hole, it's far enough away....a couple of mm.... and no it doesn't matter where it is, it's just making sure that the area between the O-rings is at atmospheric pressure....

Bob,
Thank you. Would the tube be unsafe if 3000 psi was that close to the vent hole? I am asking because I am not a mechanical engineer and I don't know where to look it up.
I hope that does not come off snarky because I don't mean it that way. I'm just trying to learn.
The reason I ask is that I had quickly skimmed posts of some QB air blocks that had the pin? holes drilled without enough steel to support them?
Would the stresses to the air tube be similar?
Thank you,
Taso

There is no load at the vent hole.... The pressure can't get past the O-ring (and if it does, it would leak out the hole).... I suppose you could make an argument that the hole shouldn't be closer than one hole diameter from the O-ring, but it would be a stretch finding a logical reason....
The reason for the problem with the holes locating the QB tank block is not the proximity to the pressure, it is the load on the screws trying to tear through the tube if the holes are too close to the end of it....
