Pa airgun hunting?
«

Hi all, for those of you that havent seen my other posts yet, i was very active on the old gta forum and have been away from the hobby for quite some time. Trying to catch up, seems people have been trying to get the prohibition to use airguns to hunt in pa changed. I see a lot about the vote of pa act 263 or something like that, but i guess i cant make very much sense of it all. So....can anyone help me find out if its legal now or not?
Appreciate any and all help

TOBYHANNA!!! Holy &^^&! I grew up in Stroudsburg. I spent a lot of time hunting up around there.
As far as the game laws, check with the warden. I THINK it passed for small game, but I haven't heard much about it lately.

Left ther over 20 years ago. I don't even recognize Stroudsburg anymore. My whole neighborhood got bought by the school, and leveled. What a waste.

Hi guys,
Stroudsburg is a beautiful town and had to be a nice place to grow up. My wife a I vacationed in Taminent several years back and we loved it. With the river being close and all the rural areas I can see the hunting and fishing up there being great. I don't know how much it has changed but it's still pretty laid back and country so being Southerners we fit in pretty good. We are planning on going back and visiting NY city again. Last time we caught a bus into the city at Delaware Water Gap. I also skied Shawnee and Camelback. Believe it or not the ski conditions are pretty much the same as here in NC. I don't see myself going hunting but I do plan on fishing and golfing some next time because we plan on going up when it's warmer. I saw the thread and just thought I would chime in.
Have a good one.

Well...the thing about the stroudsburg area now is how its changed from 20 yrs ago. I remember back before the shopping centers and such...was a beautiful, quiet area. Now its overrun with tourrists most of the time. Like this weekend, i wont be going out anywhere because itll be constant gridlock and poor attitudes on the road because people just HAVE to get those holiday weekend sales. Apparently people forget that online shopping exists around holidays

I lived in Myrtle Beach SC for awhile and understand the feeling. It's a pain but all those folks coming to the Pocono's keeps all the locals there eating. For many of the local small business people the Internet is their worst nightmare.

Agreed, the area has def been dying for over a decade. The shopping centers are put up with the hopes of bringing the life back into the area...idk if itll work, guess the people comin up for holidays are a start.
Also, i did not get a chance to contact the warden yet, got kinda busy this week with work. I will be looking into it though, in case any others are interested

I hear Ya. The resort my wife and I stayed at is next to the resort Wayne Newton had built. It's abandoned now and most of it has been torn down. My wife and I took some long walks around the lake and old resort. It was kind of sad to look at but the wildlife had taken over. We jumped up a bunch of deer and the local squirrels are big. They are not as big as a Fox Squirrel but much larger the the local grey's around here.
My wife and I went to Walmart while up there and I go to the meat section where the sausage and stuff is and I'm looking for Liver Pudding or Mush. Of course there's none to be found but I ask one of the ladies there where it was? She looked at me and said "Your not from around here are you"? LOL I bought some Little Neck clams and gave up local stuff like Liver Mush and Cheerwine.

If you want to try something really good, next time you are in Stroudsburg, look up Gary's meat market. Get yourself some scrapple. He makes the best in four counties. Slice it about a half inch thick, and fry til crispy on both sides.serve with REAL maple syrup.
He's on chipperfield drive in Stroudsburg.

Sorry guys! I keep forgetting to contact the authorities about this. Some research online shows that it passed the house with full votes last may when it was introduced the second time. However, house, senate, and governer all need to approve it i believe. Ill keep you guys updated as i find info

starting form downtown, go up 611 towards the stroud mall. it's the first traffic light past the Arlington diner. turn right on chipperfield, and he's about a mile?? up, on the left hand side. I always get two, or three loaf pans of it, when I come back to visit. I just call ahead and ask him to freeze a couple for me.

I wish they would allow hunting in PA, my grandmother and cousins live in tobyhanna . I've been going up there since I was a young kid. I was actually one of the tourists up there this weekend lol. I just go up to hangout and plink with my airguns . My fiancé and mother told me the Walmart was mayhem.
