XS60C PCP Gen 2

Hello guys,

Recently I purchased a Beeman QB79 co2, upgraded it (tune kit), bought some mags, and attached a scope. This gun is just amazing and it shoots really well, I even showed it to a couple of my friends and they were mesmerized by this gun.
So long story short, so I've decided to get into PCP guns and I did some research to upgrade my QB from CO2 to PCP however the price to upgrade it is pretty expensive and the max FPS is 900 or 1000 if I am really good at modding it. However I do not have the right tools to mod it and if I were to purchase a QB79 PCP repeater from archer airgun it will cost me about $379, I'm pretty new to this and I don't feel like spending too much money.
Did more diggings and I found XS60C 2nd gen by Mike and I was wondering anyone of you guys have some insight about this gun? I think it's a very cool gun but I would like to hear it out from you guy's perspective.

It is a good gun from all the reports i have read. That is actually the gun i was going to get as my first PCP. I was debating for a bit and was about to buy one when crosman released the maximus. With the 20% discount you can use plus free shipping friday i was able to get the maximus for the same price as the flying dragon pcp. The bad thing is i dont know if i made the right choice. My maximus had few problems with it so i am sending it back to crosman this friday. I havent heardmuch if any problems with the flying dragon pcp. There used to be a dedicsted sub forum about flying dragon here. Ithad lots of threads about that gun. If you want to read up about the gun, go to flying dragons website and go to the information section and click on the FDPCP help section. You can get to all of the old threads there. Also Mike is one of the best tuners  and can take care of what ever questions you may have.

There have been some safety concerns with the FDPCP recently.
Converting your QB to PCP' would be  far better choice.
And for what it's  worth, yes I own both guns.
The QB is a much better gun. IMHO.

i didnt know of any safety problems with the FDPCP. Maybe i dodged a bullet. What were they?

Concerns with the size and quality of the pressure tube threads not having sufficient engagement with the receiver threads.

Hello! I've actually spoke to Eric from stalwartarms, and he does make XS60C repeater but the price for it is actually double the price of a PCP XS60c, so the total for this gun is gonna be pricier and half the price of a Benjamin Marauder.
However I'll do some research on this Benjamin Maximus! Thanks for the info!

Not sure on Erics pricing but it looks like he does barrel and trigger work.  Also his thru tube conversion will work at a higher PSI.  Not having tried his rifle but think the functions like cocking will be smooth after he does his work.  JMO

I've got both currently, and I prefer the QB79 pcp with ninja shp regulator over the fdpcp. In the sweet spot of the power curve the FD is slightly more accurate at 50 yards, but I am now spoiled with the regulated gun. Tuned to 775 fps with 14.3g cphp, I get nearly 100 shots from 3,000- regulator setpoint. I get around 25 shots with the FD tuned for a 850-899-850 string using 7.9g cphp. Also, the trigger group housing on the FD cracked after about the 3rd time tightening the rear bolt...as there is a gap in between the receiver and trigger housing. Too much torque and it bends the cast pot metal, and pot metal doesn't bend too well. Both do have pretty nice triggers when adjusted properly.

Thanks for the info! I would like to know are you using gen 1 FFPCP or the newer generation?

That happened to me too!  I broke the rear trigger assembly mount.  I ordered a new one from Mike and have since installed a washer in between to fill the gap.

Yeah, I need to give Mike a call too for a new housing. Did it come complete with the guts in it? I hadn't  looked close enough to see the gap, or I would have put a shim of some sort in there.

Yes, mine did.  But I did ask Mike for a complete trigger assembly so I could have spare parts.

I was luck the with broken trigger housing I have.  I could drill,tap and hold it together with a screw also used some JB weld.  So far so good.
I guess that is why the second generation trigger housing is plastic.  The plastic one is okay and designed a little different.  If you grind off the auto safety part it gives the trigger more adjustability but will turn it into a manual safety.

On my 1 1/2 the trigger housing was broken on arrival.  Mike gave me the choice between a gen 1 or 2 trigger assembly.  Since I was familiar with the 2, I went with it.  I had to widen the slot for the trigger assy and slot the rear mounting hole of the trigger.
