It wasn't 968 it was 963. I was just a little excited.

2 turns on the HS = 963 at 89.5 FPE with 43 Eujin.

This thing is loud at 90 fpe. Guess this is where the next focus is going. I can't shoot that in the backyard. Even 70 fpe was too loud for my taste or comfort level.

Mine was quiet at 75 fpe. though i still have the shroud and the extension on it.

You trying to get max power?

Yeah my .30 at 85fpe was pretty loud even with the shroud. Now detuned to 70fpe which isn't very loud now but am getting a Neil Clauge LDC for her to quiet it up.

Jay. I am just messing around with the gun.
It's always been said that a stock valve can't hit 100 fpe with out boring out the valve seat and pushing the valve seat forward. Looks like I may get closer than some.

So, what power plant are you running in your gun to do blow 75 fpe + ?

I would like to hear how that LDC works out. I am just going to make a slip on for the backyard. Ooh Yea I almost forgot. You have that Hill valve in your 30 at .2" exit port. You should really consider matching that TP sleeve and barrel to it. BIg Big difference.

I have heard of Mr Hollow point but his stuff is just expensive.

Hopefully I can put together a High power shot string and low power shot string soon. Just got to quiet it down a little bit first.

I think Rdsail got his marauder gen II with stock valve to do 110fpe. He then tuned it back for like 85 fpe. Im running stock everything. I checked the insides of the valve...completely stock.

I may get a neil clauge ldc....

Did you buy your gun new or used from someone ? Just don't seem right for stock. Did you say that you are running an SSG at 75 FPE too ?

I have seen Rdsails builds. I think his 110 fpe was with a longer barrel.

Shorty I will let you know how the LDC works. I should get it in a week or 2. Like I said it's really not that loud as I'd but wouldn't hurt to quiet it down and heard great things and that was the only gun that I thought could use some help but the whack from the pellet is ridiculously loud

and I will probably experiment with the larger TP and barrel port whenever I get time. I bet I could get easy 100fpe with it with the 50gr JSBs.

Not sure if I hit the 89 FPE now.

Didn't make sense between 1 and 2 turns on the hammer spring so I gave it another shot. The only difference was that in the afternoon there was no cloud cover. Now there is a lot of cloud cover (kind of poor lighting ).

Trial number 2 at 2 HS and 2500 psi with 43.2 Eujuin - 892 fps @ 76 FPE

i bought the gun used. has a brand new stock valve and transfer port. I was going to buy a new valve from war decided against it. I did manage to get 75 fpe with ssg. Chronograph came from Norm_M.

How did you manage that? You got that turning down the bolt probe? Or are your ports bigger than mine? Nice! Holy cow man I can't hit that with Max HS and 3100psi!

I was conservative with your valve. I didn't want to mess it up on you.

Your exit port was drilled to .187". Normal stuff that pretty much everyone does and the hog on the inside of the valve stopped just shy of the valve seat. We can open your exit up to .196" very easily or you can even do it. But, I think I have something else going on.

When I did my valve,
I hogged the valve first. This is when you put a 1/2" bit down the front of the valve and stop just before the raised valve seat. Well, while I was doing this I used a piece of electrical tape on my drill bit as a stop reference for depth. While I was drilling, the tape moved back on the bit and I drilled right into the raised seat.
The tip of the bit actually beveled the throat where the raised seal was.

At this time I said screw it, and the valve is shot. I continued with drilling out the throat to .25" and then the exit port to .196". I put on the cap and messed up there too. Instead of hitting it at .433" so the shoulder would hold the poppet spring, It accidentally hit it at .466". This kind of ripped off the shoulder to the valve cap. So, I faced off the shoulder on the valve cap.
It was a disaster...
Then, I worked the poppet into the "lack of" valve seat with 0/2 diamond polish lapping compound for around 10 minutes at around 500 to 800 rpm.

I had no idea if it was going to work but I put it in the gun anyway. With the hand pump, the poppet sealed immediately. It also seemed to pass the 2 day 2000 psi fill.

The bolt probe is ground down. First on a hand grinder, the chucked into the lathe and hand ground. It ain't pretty but, The stock size of the probe was around .156" (huge and blocking barrel port) and I pulled it down to .11" and backed the shoulder up a tad.

The biggest difference between mine and yours, I had the whole gun to work on and not the worry that it's someone elses. I would have felt terrible if I messed up your stuff. Then, I would have to buy you all new stuff.

This is why I think it's tough to work on other peoples things. I commend our tuners for their confidence on working on such things. I would be perturbed If I sent my gun out to get worked on and the person told me, I need another 100 bucks because I blew your valve out. Or, I need an extra 4 weeks because I am waiting for some new parts to come in, we had a problem with the pressure tube.

Not only that, I felt real comfortable doing the normal mods on your valve. Mine was a plain disaster that appears to be working out (science project).

It looks sunny today so I hope to get some numbers in.

itll be 3-4 weeks before I get mine. And then another 2-3 weeks because Im getting it hydro dipped in Krytek Camo

Maybe I am just used to my regulated 22. Man that thing registers less than a red ryder (buck).

Now I know why Oldpro was on a quest for a super quite .25 at 40 fpe. I forgot how loud it gets after 35 fpe.

I just got done swapping the HS adjuster cap from my 22 to the 25. The HS adjuster was drilled and taped through and through. Now I can tune it from 30 fpe all the way up to

with the turn of the HS 1/4" allen wrench adjuster.

Just ran some 27.5 grain H&n's from 747 fps to 868 fps and finally came into a setting of 810 fps for 40 FPE. Still freaking loud. I have to get this noise level down before I sit outside for an hr throwing pellets over the chrony. 1 or 2 at a time in between the day is Ok but, 50 to 100 shots may attract attention and I do not want that.

Do you guys not have the shroud on ? For what it is compared to some of the springers here its rather quiet.

Love all the information on the .25, mine has an War SSG and I did the F.A.M.E mod to the hammer. if you are not familiar with that do a search.

It helps reduce the friction of the hammer in the tube and improves the ES and SD.

I don't have my numbers handy on Vacation, but check out triggertreats posts, I think it will help you out.

I have a shroud on mine which why it isn't very loud pellet impact is WAY louder. At 40fpe it shouldn't be very loud but then again never had a stock .25 to know. I do hafta say I can't compare it to my .22 either as that thing is very quiet.

I'll be trying that F.A.M.E mod in my .22 as well. If it works out that great I'll do it on my .30.

Mines not very loud till over 60fpe. 46fpe is way quieter then all my other air rifles including the .177 break barrel. I never knew you could take the bolt probe off. Now I got to put that sucker in a drill and put a file on it and grind it down!

I thought cloudy days were preferred when chrony work was involved? The sun tends to make them misread?

Cloudy in between rain. I don't know. Gonna try it again after the gun is charged up. Hopefully I didn't blow that darn transfer sleeve out

I just ran a low power 40 FPE tune experiment. I want to see how long 40 fpe can hang on for. I started at 1800 psi and by shot 14 I was still hitting 40 fpe at 1150/1200. 2 more shots and she dropped like a rock to 760 fps at 1000 psi.

I was just seeing if the gun would be efficient and low pressure. Doesn't seem like it. The gun seems to like the 2700 psi to 2000 psi range. It also looks like it peaks around 2400 to 2600 psi.

I have to go to the in laws this afternoon but I want to try a couple max shots out before I go. I really want to see that 89 fpe again.
