OK good brief. Army now has been ordered to use non lead 5.56 and they have it M855-A1 Issued now , brass and steel, seems to work, time will tell. . Can't recall other then Army times where I saw it but more then one source.
In some states the federal property has a lead ban on the use of lead shot and in some federal areas no lead bullets. And for the heck of it the rangers are giving out tickets on some trout streams for lead sinkers. The state co is not but the ranger is. On top of this the handicap folks who drive the old gator and golf carts are being ticketed and the supposed ORV seized. Get on the list to receive Gov tech news ,Police beat news , Army times , DARPA news. It will all depress you.

Maybe, just maybe, we've used and been happy with lead pellets for so long, there hasn't been a need to research or develop anything else.  Maybe something's out there that we haven't seen that will wow us.  I know Cali loves to overregulate, especially to shut up the tree huggers, but I may just draw the line at lead pellets like Wolfer.

It is actually in a alot of places if you look. I first heard about it either on snipershide.com or AR15.com, but the ammo is a good thing. It is superior to the old M855 in every way. it is actually good ammo. It was kind of a shock. But then there was the argument about which is better, the armies new M855a1 or the maries Mk318 mod0.
