Well, my Hatsan Bullboss arrived from Pyramid today and words cannot describe my disappointment in what I received. The rifle was double boxed, but the interior Hatsan box was not secured well with packing material and it was not taped shut so the rifle could easily move around in the box during shipment. Parts were scattered around inside the Hatsan box.

When I removed the rifle from the box the first thing I noticed was that it was filthy with oily residues all around the stock and an oxidation on the metal parts that would not rub off with your finger. After having read another reviewer's comments about the air tank I checked and sure enough the air tank was resting against the gun barrel. If I shook the gun the air tank would easily move around in the frame but come back to rest against the barrel. I took the air tank off of the gun, hoping that maybe it was just not seated properly, but that was not the case.

This one is going back to Pyramid tomorrow. Receiving something in this condition is just not acceptable, especially something costing close to $600.00

That is not good!  I wonder if PA sent you one someone had returned or something?  I agree, not at all acceptable.  Well, at least PA will make it right, just not as quickly as you'd like I'm sure.  I went through the return game with a marauder that wouldn't group any better than 2" at 20 yards...  Both of my Hatsans showed up in good condition, and definitely no parts scattered around.  I'm thinking somebody got lazy and threw a return back on the shelf.  I've seen lots of positive reviews, but I also heard of the one you mentioned.  I will say that my air tank is very close to touching the shroud, but not rattling around.  Good luck on some resolution man.

That is terrible Steve. Like Donny said, they will make it right but its the down time that is frustrating. I went through that twice with a same gun but with Airgun Depot.

Steve, that is terrible, but on a bright side maybe by the time they get it back the .25 will be back in stock.

Well guys, I got up this morning a bit more rested after my two day road trip and decided to at least give the Bullboss a chance before sending it back. I cleaned up the crud on the rifle, which came off with some elbow grease, and it does look nice now. The action is very smooth and works perfectly. Since the air tank was fully charged when I received the gun it was time to see what kind of power it had. The first couple of shots with JSB 15.89 pellets were in the high 900's and crossed into the 1000+ fps range after about 5 shots. I switched to the 21 gn cudas and was shooting in the low 900's with the peak couple of shots hitting the high 900's even with 21 gn pellets, so the gun has the power potential I am looking for. The scope will get mounted this weekend and I will clean the barrel and try for some groups. If the gun groups ok, it still might be a keeper...

I have decided that the reason the air tank moves around in the frame is because the front barrel band is defective. I can use a rubber band (uggg) to hold the air tank in place but that is a short term fix, and if Pyramid Air can't send me a replacement band then the gun will probably go back for a replacement. All in All, I really like the gun so far, just the usual hassle of getting one that is in perfect condition.

Did anyone else get one the tanks?  I ordered one and it was here waiting for me when I arrived home.  An unexpected surprise is the it was manufactured in 2007 instead of 2005 as advertised.  There is still a year before needing a new hydro test also.

I picked up 2 of the tanks from the same supplier, but they are both 2005 tanks with 2014 hydros.  They look good, though.

I must have gotten lucky then.  I went to the paintball shop and had it filled.  They only had 250 bar of pressure.  But I topped it off with my nitrogen tank later.

Good job.  I'll probably have to settle for 4000 psi tomorrow, since my closest fill is the G'ville dive shop.  Maybe I can get up to Jessie's soon...

The .22 Bullboss is now officially a keeper. I cleaned the barrel, mounted the scope, and shot this as my first official 25 shot string with the 21 gn Cudas:

200-Bar down to about 120-Bar...could have pushed on out to 30 shots but it was starting to rain. I think the 1010 shot was because I had a JSB 15.9 mixed in with the 21 gn pellets. The rest of the string is reasonably good and pretty close to where I want the power level to be. I need to order some 18 gn pellets, I think the gun would be right on with those without much adjustment. I am impressed with the Bullboss power.

With scope the gun weighs 11.5 lbs, getting pretty close to what the BT65 Elite that I used to have weighed, and similar to the Hatsan 135 I had as well. I am getting a bit old to be lugging that much weight around in a full day in the field but the Hatsans are sweet shooters for sure, and the Bullboss is balanced very well. ( And if I don't eat my Cherios that day, the P12 is three pounds lighter... )

Oh, and even at this power level the Bullboss is totally backyard friendly, maybe quieter than the P12 which is also backyard friendly.

If we take out the odd high shots, it looks like it wants about a 1/2 turn more spring on the hammer pre-load.  I say that since the last shots are still faster than the first ones.   OR, you could start with a lower fill pressure, and it looks like it'll do 30 shots at that speed all day long.  But yeah, it's shooting darn near 40fpe out of the box!  Not bad at all

I picked up two as wellI came in about two days ago but honestly I haven't even open the packages yet, I'm still looking for a good source for the hoses but I've got all of the fittings pre-much taken care of so who all wants the fittings and we will work out getting those ordered

Well, I took the 2 SCBA tanks to the Dive Shop on McEver and had them both filled, supposedly to 4100 psi.  They were very nice about it, only wanting to verify the latest Hydro and not demanding a Visual Inspection like Dive, Dive, Dive in Lawrenceville insisted on ("It's for our insurance, we have no say in it").

However, after cooling off, I put a deadhead fitting on my fill hose and both tanks only registered 3400 psi. I even swapped gauges and it read the same.  Both tanks registered 4000 psi on their built-in gauges, so I guess those aren't even close to accurate.  Disappointing, but I'm glad there are other fill options.
