A Crow in a Rainstorm

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon here in Southern Kentucky and I was sitting on the porch just enjoying nature.  Soon I noticed a hawk looming over head.  I figured if he was looking for food then the nutters must be coming out to play.  I ran inside and grabbed the .22 Rainstorm and loaded a few 18 grain JSB's.  As I sat outside with the Rainstorm at the ready I noticed the hawk was being harassed by a few crows.  Now not only do I hate crows but I also love hawks.  So seeing this just made me angrier then all get out.  So patiently I waited for the two birds to stop their fight.  Now generally crows do not land on the trees at the end of my backyard but today it was fate.  The crow landed about 30 feet up off the ground in a tree about 55 yards out.  I had a shot through some small branches but I knew the power of the Rainstorm would push the pellet through any tiny twigs and to its target.  I lined him up center mass in the Leapers 4-16 scope and pulled the trigger.  I heard a THWACK that echoed through the surrounding yards and watched as the crow plummeted to the ground (hitting a few branches on his way).  I guess he shouldn't have come out during a rainstorm.

my sentiments exactly. the hawk is just trying to hunt for food. having absolutely nothing to do with the crows, yet they feel the need to harass the absolute bejeebees out of him/her until it leaves. if i could only train him to fly low and slow over my house. id pick them crows right of his tail.
