oh and as far as putting a drop of oil in your compression chamber every 500 shots or so, your right, I would'nt do that either. I put a drop of silicone based oil in the chamber every 2 or 300 shots. Every time you shoot, air temperatures in the compression chamber rise to around 2000 degrees. That kind wear and tear is brutal on the internal walls. The oil protects the chamber walls from all that punishment. Again, follow your owners manual when it comes to careing for your rifle. Theres a reason they write those things.
