Not sure if this gun has what you are talking about. The ball bearing rides over a pyramid shaped bump abut 3/16" thick. I can't see that there is any damage to it other then that the blueing has worn off due to years of use. Just in case it might matter, this 36 is a 1987 model that was built in West Germany.
