Why HW97 $240 CHEAPER -krale-than Diana 460

Maybe I am looking a gift horse in the mouth
But you folks seem to imply that HWs are"a little" better that Diana's
So WHY is the HW97-plain one with  real wood-just 360 euros(actually just $390 delivered to near new orleans USA)
But the RWS 460 is 565 Euros-or in "real money" over $600??

I have a 460-very very nice-especially after hector taught me how to adjust the trigger(yikes such a LIGHT trigger)

Why is the HW97 -at Krale-so much cheaper that the Diana 460??

Actually i don't know, but here in The Netherlands all Diana models are more expensive than comparable Weihrauch models. So while in the 70's of past century Diana was THE brand, Weihrauch compared to Diana sales are now probably more than 10 : 1 over here. Diana have priced themselves completely out of the market.

I'd guess the HW97 cost a little less due to supply and demand.  I think Weihrauch has gone over to CNC machining to make most of their parts now.  I'd imagine they can more quickly and cheaply produce parts compared to earlier times when more costly skilled labor was employed.  As far as I know, Diana has a new owner and perhaps once they've streamlined things, they'll also be able to increase supply of cheaper in house parts and then we, the consumers will win with lower prices?

I received my HW97 Blue Laminate one week ago tomorrow. Don't regret it at all. Be sure to have lube close at hand. May have been a fluke but the only part lubed was the piston seal. Congrats on the new gun, you are going to love it. After proper lube, mine puts 10 shots in less than 1/2" at 25 yards consistently Loves H&N FTT 8.64g, 4.52mm.

 Even though HW's look to be more labor intensive even with CNC' I asked the same question before. I ordered the HW85K on last friday and had it on monday! $305 to my door. The 85 is the same as the standard 95K here but with the better front sight with inserts. I have a HW80 coming for $371 delivered. at Krale even some crosman and gamo springer's are more $$$ than the HW's

That is odd-
first thing-4 am-first thing(central time) I had 2  emails from them in respect to my order which was placed maybe 10 hours earlier
One asking for an address clarification-zip code had New Orleans showing up instead of my suburban small town
The other asking for my driver's license -guess they need it because some euros and some canadians aren't allowed full strength air rifles-I got a 14 ft lb .22I like .22 because my 65 yo hands are a bit beat up
much easier to handle a bigger pellet- .177's are tiny
and I buy crosman lead free pellets-and walmart sells them for less than lead free .177's
did I mention I'm "frugal"
I save my pellets-reshoot some-
the 460 pellets-frequently are a bit too damaged to reshoot
the HW95 will be gentler-so yes I will reshoot those 4 cents each pellets(zinc/aluminum doesn't bend as much as thin lead)
and someday-I will figure a way to resize -re-press the skirts on my pellets-
Yes I'm a little cheap-

So with the HW97 you DON'T need some fancy jig to remove the spring??
It is preloaded-just maybe 1-1.5cm- by screwing in a plug in the back of the receiver??
Wow so much more convenient than the break barrels

Why in the world does ANYONE buy a break barrel?? No way do they every reliably lock up as well-and the "droop   droop"-duh!!
Plus with open sights-harder to cock-
besides-who in the world thinks it is a good idea to use(bend) the barrel to cock a rifle??
Other than weight-they don't make sense?

Holland is part of the Netherlands.  Both North and South Holland make up about 2/3 of the country(think Texas and Alaska).
Dutch is the language that they speak, thus they refer to themselves as Dutch.

Why would anybody use a side cocker or under lever?   Loading the side port is an unnatural act that has not been sanctioned my the Church.

It take 3 more steps to load a pellet in a loading port than it does to load a break barrel.  If I wanted complexity I would get a PCP.

For those interested in this off-topic Holland-Netherlands thing  i ran a topic through Google Translate.

In te attachment i marked my hometown Deventer (yellow dot) and the Krale store (green dot). Distance approximately 50km.

Amsterdam is in the west of the country, Germany to the east (5 hours drive to Berlin) and Belgium and France to the south (3 hours to Brussels, 5 hours to Paris).

Ordered 6pm 4-28-2016  arrived noon 5-2-2016- 4 days 18 hours-

Needless to say 15 minutes after I got home- it was shooting
most of that was bolting on a scope
and opening the several boxes- that were taped over the little HW box
yeah very well packed-arrived perfect
shoots great-
 claims 36 lbs cocking effort-same as 460??
well one of them must be stretching the truth
it takes MAYBE 1/2 the cocking effort of the 460-
geez I started  giving it my full body wrenching 460 effort and I barely eased up before bottoming it out hard
