I get a slight ringing sound in my cocking lever when I close it or when I fire the rifle. A drop of oil in the end of the cocking lever will stop the ringing for a time. I think it is the spring inside that is resonating.

I'm happy with the performance of my 97K and just accept the sound to be part of our relationship much as some sounds are accepted as part of another relationship.
You must be really zinging that lever to get it to whistle! That noise (normal) is from the comp-tube sliding, on the right amount of lube on the nice fitting seal, sucking air. Get used to it. Start to worry if it quits 'whistling'.
My 97 doesn't whistle but it does sing this song when closing the arm. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=tighten+your+screws%2cairgun+song&view=detail&mid=8AF8E419C659A89907758AF8E419C659A8990775&FORM=VIRE
