That brings up a good point.  When you search, you have to do it from the main forum page, or else your results are limited to results only from the Gate you're in, so if you're in the Classifieds section and you search for filters, you'll only see results of people wanting to buy/sell/trade filters, but if you do it at the top level you'll see all the results.

which one can i reuse the silica in the one from harbor freight or the sun optics one, the harbor freight one is cheap but everything i have read there isnt any parts list that i would need to mount it to the pump

The beads in the HF filter can be heated to remove the water, no experience with the other so can't comment.

The pump fitting should be 1/8npt for the intake. I think the HF filter is 1/4" npt. Buy the filter take it to Home Depot and purchase a brass fitting that will fit into the intake that is 1/8"npt female on the other end.

That's the "part's list" in a nut shell. They may even have the fitting at HF, but I'm not sure if they have anything under 1/4".

well got the filter all set up and installed, been doing some reading and  found if you get a longer hose for the pump filling up is faster and easier, is this true or myth

I think the post you're referring to is talking about a longer MICROBORE hose... a microbore hose is a different animal then the hose that comes with the pump....  If you where to put in a longer hose thats the same internal diameter of the stock hose it would take longer to fill the gun as there is more hose volume that needs filled as well.....  If you use a microbore hose then yes you can go with a longer hose and STILL fill the gun easier/faster because the internal volume of microbore hoses are much much less then the stock hose that came with the pump...

I have a longer micro-bore hose on my pump.
I do not think it take less time to pump with a longer hose but you don't have to lay your rifle down on the ground if you use a longer hose.
A longer hose means more air in the hose you must release when through pumping.

I have my Tiger Shark tank mounted on the wall when I am at home, to get it out of the way.

I have a 6" hose coming from the tank to fill my rifles/pistol.

I waste a lot of air but a couple hours on the ShoeBox and all is good.

BTW Sports Chalet (Yes, they are going out of business) used to take 2 hours to fill my tank nice and slow and they had a commercial size Bauer compressor. Too fast, the tanks heats up and when you get home your 4500 becomes 4100...

You need to put a wrench (or pliers) on each end (the black pieces) They are attached in the middle. As you tighten them they seal against the glass inside. The white cover is just that, a cover. If you try to hold it, it will just spin. There really aren't many beads inside, it's deceiving, the whole inside is not "filled"
