Hadn't noticed the pipe was actually atatached until you mentioned
that us scary
Don't know why you would do that...

I'm very tempted to ask him if he would ship...
and if its needs a rebuild that is still a very low price even if it is only 3000psi model.

That's very scary indeed with what appears to be copper pipe from the shoebox to the brass plumbers piping and valves.

I believe there is no difference between the 3000 psi and 4500 psi models except for the spring and adjustment setting on the 1/4" upper piston rod so this could be made to fill to 4500 psi very easy .

Hard to see in the pics if it is chain drive or if it has been converted to belt.

Just pop off that braided hose off and use a legit fill assembly from the shoebox to your tank and/or gun. No mods needed, just don't use the included "fill assembly".

It should look something like this below if you have an SCBA tank to go between the foster connection on the SB and the tank

The compressor should be safe as long as nothing is broken but
The pipe and possible the hose are most likely not rated for anything like 3000psi.
You just need a standard HPA hose.
check out shoebox compressor's website he has a lot of very good video's that should help you
to look it over and make sure everything is ok.
For the money as long as you don't need super quick fills there isn't another
compressor I know of that can touch them.

Yea I missed the required change of a burst disc to allow to fill to 4500 psi but the base compressor is the same so as stated here below go to the shoebox site and do some research as to what the differences are or better yet just call Tom Gore and he will gladly tell you what is required to upgrade to a 4500 psi compressor.

Most definitely get rid of all plumbing from the outlet foster fitting pipe threads of the shoebox and start over with HPA rated parts and hoses for safe operation.

It would be a good deal even if you had to spend another 100 bucks on it to get the correct parts for making it capable of filling to 4500 psi IMO.
