Been working on the Bulldog

I've got a Bulldog on the way. Curious about how it seems to only have a stable velocity for the first 5 shots, and am wondering if a regulator would give more consistent velocity (even if lower), for a couple of mags. Especially with an extended air tube a la Pitbull but at the factory air pressure. Also, I've been reading about the accuracy of this rifle... and am wondering if I'll shoot it when I get it and then return it because I cannot abide an inaccurate rifle. I would expect this should shoot inch groups at 50 yards with the right diameter projectiles.

Also wondering if the opening of the air port and the resultant high velocity and reported better accuracy is because the barrel twist is too slow for the available projectiles (bullets), and that's why the JSB 81gr Kings seem to shoot better (higher velocity -> faster spin rate -> sufficiently stabilized).

got the mega ldc installed, did some shooting today,decided to use some 360 round balls i use in my 357 rain storm 2 and my 357 shinsung 201 fire,a little tight but very doable, and accurate,there 64 gr, shot ten passed the crony,

very pleased with the accuracy, the mod,s and even [just stock] it's a winner,i have many different bullets/slugs to try,at 70 yards it will chop small diameter limb,s with the round ball,s every time if i do my part ,that's great because they're cheap to plink and target practice with at 52.00 or so shipped for 800 or so is a great alternative .i was surprised at the accuracy of the round ball,the bulldog barrel is .356  and the rb,s are .360, i shot a lot more today at limb,s and other targets today tethered to my tanks i have regulated to  3k , shot 1 of my full 4500 psi tank,s down to 2700 psi,i will refill it from my [ tuxin compressor from china,it's fast and works great so far now,  i have 2 92 cu ft cf tanks ,and the bulldog is quite now,you hear the impact of the bullet more than the shot,neighbors did not seem to hear anything,no dog,s barking,so i'm very content with the bulldog.hope the review helps, i know the post people have made about the bulldog mod,s and stuff really helped me,also the mega ldc and the single shot tray are well worth the money,very impressed with pittbullairguns.com .

ObiJohn, I agree with you. I think the larger bullets need to be spun a little faster to be accurate. They can also be over spun but i don't think that we have to worry about tht on anything except pellets.

  like it? i love it,,also i made some more 158 gr, bullets i will try this weekend,unless the atn 5x20x[35]x85mm day/night digital scope, gets in so i can do some night shooting,great deal on them at sportsman outfitters ,549.00 shipped, also best deal i found on the extended battery pack was 97.00 shipped from amazon,glad i got the moderator so the gun won't cost less than the optic,s  lol.will move the monstrom  4x16x44 ffp to the rainstorm 2. merry Christmas to me,

I apologize for going off topic but I just looked for that ATN scope and it looks like sportsmansoutfitters is selling them $40 cheaper on their ebay store.  If it's the same company.  You have to add it to your Ebay cart to see the price and I've attached a screen shot.

Hey, if any of you guys make a replacement sleeve with larger ID for the poly in the transfer port, please check FPS before and just after installing it.  Be nice to know if it's worth making one.  My gun doesn't have one but a friend's does and I've been advising him on the bore job and he is wondering about it.  I don't think it will make much difference, but it would be nice to know. I'll make him one if it does.  Regards, Tom

I have a few questions:  what is the diameter of the barrel, what is the width of the receiver where the barrel is (wall thickness), and does the barrel have a straight profile, or is it tapered?  For some reason I feel like I read somewhere that the barrel is tapered.

The barrel is straight at the receiver, then tapers down, and then straight again to the muzzle.  Search on bulldog barrel.  Someone did post the dimensions on GTA.

The  3" that goes into the breech is 11/16", then tapers to 5/8" in 3" and is 5/8" to the muzzle.  28" total length.  Regards, Tom

Good info guys, couple questions if anyone can help me out.  I have heard the accuracy on these isn't too good at 100-150yds or further, what king of accuracy are you getting out of a power tuned Bulldog with say 115-125gr slugs? 

Is there anyone that make a moderator for these yet?

The only commercial LDC's I know of are from Matt @ Pittbull:  https://www.pitbullairguns.com/

I think he has three size options and some that are designed to work with extended air tubes.

I only shoot pellets, so can't help you on the slug info.
