Cometa air rifles
«

I'm about to convince myself that I "need" another .22 caliber rifle. I'm not quite there yet but I'm weakening. Y'all know how THAT goes....Anyway, I've been hearing about the Cometas..I'm assuming the Fusion Premier is the top of the line, if so, other than the adjustable cheek-piece on the Premier Star, what's the difference between that model and the straight Premier? What about fit and finish? Reliabilty? Warranty? Are the prices in line with other quality rifles? Looking at my questions, it would seem that I know very little about these rifles. I'd welcome any comments concerning the Cometa rifles.
Thanks....Larry

I have no experience with Cometa air rifles but one of our own members here deals with them. I hear nothing but great reviews on his customer service and products.

Cometas are very good rifles I have 3 Fenix 400 compacts, these rifles are very good in .22cal and these are a very good quality rifle as good or better then RWS, they have very very good triggers in them and super accurate once you learn how to shoot them, they have good power for a rifle this size, 18+ftlbs they shoot harder than a 34 out of the box. I own alot of expensive AGs HW/Beenams Webleys etc no their not on this quality level but not far off, if your looking for a good mid priced springer thats a quality rifle these are pretty good if they weren't I wouldn't have bought 3 of them oh and did I say how easy they are to cock! if you need any further info on them please contact me and I'll give you a complete run down on them.

Hi there clip ,i own a cometa fenix 400 .22 for three years and honestly they are good ags and worth the money however the difference in the fusion and fenix is in the stly of stock however the fusion will give you a few more fps then the fenix 400 as for my fenix 400.22 its light enough to carry all day for a fun day of targetting ,and hunting ,the accuratecy is also good and will be able to take out your game critter at 40 yds ,it has decent power also ,like they say you get for what you paid and at 300.00 plus they are worth it ...the trigger is a two stage adjustable ,as far as the adjustable cheeck rest ones i dont know much about however there action and trigger are the same and i wouldnt mind owning another... out the box they perform like they should but like any ag you always could have that one lemon but im sure that Richard will take care of that issue who is the owner of a new website selling the cometa line ,cell already gave you his info ..one advice is to get a mag mount for scope cause the top of reciever has a problem putting certain mounts on top but the mag will take care of problem or the offset mount will work as well ...what i like about the fusion premier is the bull barrel with its airstipper and its walnut stock ...the warrenty is great cause i had trigger problems with the first cometas that hit the states back in 2008 and in 2009 the manou bros who are the owners of the cometa line fixed it with no problem and paid shipping both ways and that was after a year so yes they are cool people to talk to but with Richard on board its much better cause he does communicate with us all the time ...after three years i just recently decided to tune my cometa by Shadow and its better then before so like we all know tunes is a must after awhile ....Clip you fgot some very nice ags ...jorge

Mark: Thanks for the personal experiences with the Cometas. That's the type of information I was looking for. I hadn't really looked at the 400 compacts and I learned a few things from your reply. Much appreciated.
Jorge: Sounds like you've had nothing but good experiences with your Cometas. I was curious as to the warranty should something go wrong and you've answered that question... Thanks! Yeah, I guess I have been able to add some nice rifles to my collection. I really haven't been "addicted" for very long,2-3 years or so, just since I found the GTA. I can blame everything on this site. Sure is tough...LOL.
Cell: Thanks for providing Richard's web site. I recall reading that he was a dealer but had not looked it up. I prefer buying from a fellow member of the GTA...you feel like it's a family member therefore more trustworthy. I'll add his "store" to my favorite list.
Thanks to you guys for the prompt answers. I knew I could count on the GTA for answers.

I sell Cometas because I love mine. The Fusion Premiere Star is the top of the line. It is a Fusion (about 20.5 foot pounds) with the adjustable cheek-piece (Star) and Walnut stock (Premiere). Other models in the Cometa line use the same naming convention. The Fusion comes with an air stripper and no open sights. If you want open sights, you have to look to the Fenix/400 model (17.5 foot pounds). The stock carving on the Fusion is a bit nicer, but that is not meant to slight the Fenix/400 which has checkering only on the trigger-hand area. The 400 Compact Star has open sights and a sound moderator... It is a sort of second choice to the top of the line. I am thinking you SHOULD be able to get a 400 Compact Star Premiere, which would end up as the most expensive option (beside the Lynx PCP).
Believe it or not I got my first Cometa from Gene. It was because of that experience that I decided to sell the rifles. I'd only been selling scopes for a few years, and when I decided to try rifles I stuck with the same philosophy -- only publish for sale what I use and like. I sell lots of other stuff and get good prices for them that will beat pyramyd air most of the time. The rest of the time I tell people where they can get it for less -- if I can't match the price.
I'll field what I can about the Cometa guns and my experience, and can get answers when you need them!

I have a fusion in .177 and I love it. Probably the coolest looking springer out there. Very accurate as well.

I have slightly more information about the Lynx. Minimum 30 ft. lbs. List Price: $675 (mine will be lower). Should be out first week of April, but the supplier is sometimes a little hesitant shipping things out. I hope to confirm availability and start shipping in April.
