BB gun benchrest accuracy

Hi all,
I shot these targets months ago and just got around to taking pictures and posting.
I shot these targets off a rest at a measured 15ft, except the 499 target was from 5 meters. I used mostly Daisy Precision Max BBs, unless the guns were already loaded with something else. The pictures tell the story.
Thanks for looking.

I haven't shot a BB Gun in Light Years.......relatively speaking.
That said I find the info very interesting. Brings back fond memories.
Many thanks Dan.

They might sound like a lot of work till you realize you only need 3-4 pumps for plinking.

I've experienced the same accuracy with our recent model 25, and my 2nd variant crosman 760 self cocker, but my red Ryder that I bought a few months ago is a bit more accurate than that using standard Daisy bb's.
I'll have to test the rodgers 105 that I just fixed up / restored for my cousin, though I'm not banking on much as it came from the dump.

PCP? I never touched the stuff !
No, it's a type of airgun !
Oh!, no I don't have one of those.

The older 105 that I " restored " for my cousin had a tightest group of just over 1" rested at 5yds with standard Daisy bb's.
My new 105 consistently groups 3/4 of an inch , which is much better.
Both guns have had the same spring reduction, and both have the exact same sights.
The only differences are that the older gun was found at the dump, and that it doesn't have the lightened trigger.
I'll have to take a good look, but I don't think there's any rust or anything in the barrel.

This is very interesting.
I'm shooting BB guns against a recent model Daisy 880 pellet rifle, all shooting is offhand. My old Crosman 760 and one of my Daisy 111s are very competitive at 16 ft. I haven't tried my other 111s and 105s, but they should do well, all were hand selected for accuracy, back in the 90's.
An early 1950s or late 40's model 25 has done well after getting some well deserved Crosman pellet gun oil.
The most accurate BB gun I have had was an early 1960's Daisy model 25, using the Daisy telescopic sight. It shot faster and with more accuracy, than the lever guns of the day. Sadly, I wore that gun out.
Another good one was a Golden Eagle wide body, again back in the day, again worn out by me.
My uncles nickel plated gun, had a fake scope and cocked on closing the lever, it was less accurate than the Golden Eagle that replaced it. But, it was far easier to cock, than the cock on opening Golden Eagle. At 5 years old, I could use my body weight to cock that around 1928 Daisy.
The 1990's models 111 and 105 shoot at about 220 and 210 fps respectively.
Offhand, the Daisy 880, using CPHP pellets at 16 ft, shoots close to one ragged hole. The BB guns can't do a ragged hole but surely do well.
A friend has a recent Red Ryder and an older one, both are very accurate for smooth bores.
Well, off to the garage, gotta shoot BB guns!!!
