River Air Magnum oppinions

Would like to hear some members experiences with this gun. Have been trying to narrow down my choices in a magnum break barrrel. It's going to be a .22. There's just to many pellet choices within this caliber. Good Magnum rated scope and rings are also on the table. Appreciate all ideas. Thanks.   Wolfer

do you mean ruger air magnum?i use to love mine,then i got a np2 and well it spoiled me,not as powerful as a r.a.m but a lot smoother,quieter,smaller,better stock,and don;t eat scopes,has a sling ,i have a r.a.m in 177 22 25.all self tuned and have votek seals ,though the r.a.m is cheaper to buy than the np2,by the time you get it right ,you could of bought 2 np2.imo,and just saw manny drop a hog with a np2,there way more accurate.imo

I had bought a refurb in .22. Sent it back. It was terrible. Didn't seem like the breech was drilled right. Looked off center. Didn't even bother to exchange it for another one. Just got my money back.

It's not a gas ram/nitro piston but you might consider a fully tuned XS28M from Flying Dragon and I think he still gives you his lifetime warranty on the full tune rifles.

I just got my FD fully tuned XS28M about a week ago. Excellent trigger and smooth firing cycle. However, a magnum is a magnum, meaning that the recoil is significant compared to piston guns with less muzzle energy.

Just as another data point, I also ordered a Hatsan 125 Sniper Vortex and had to return that because breech lock-up was loose. The 125 has more muzzle energy, but in the end I could not use it. Granted, there may be many XS28M rifles that have issues, but after Mike select and tune them, customers only get the good ones made better with tuning.
