Just wanted to say thanks for running this match. It's been a great way for me to get acquainted with airgunning this winter. The benefit of constant practice was obvious to me this week. My scores have been slowly improving up until this match, which was a small step back for me.

I hadn't shot since the last match 2 weeks ago. As a result, I couldn't get comfortable and it was real hard to keep my concentration (you can see the last target was my worst). It's obvious the best way to improve and maintain your skill is to practice, practice, practice.

Oh now... I run nothing. All I do is tally some scores, Big Bill and gamo2hammerli were running these things well before I found GTA. Doing some of the tallies is my way of saying thanks to them!

Practice practice practice is right! It really is the only way to get better.

On a side note, how are you liking the stock 4x32 scope? I got an RWS 4x32 scope with my Diana 34 and it turned out to be a bitter disappointment. I only learned this year that it was less accurate than open sights.

As far as the scope goes, I don't like it, at least not at 10 yds. You can either have the reticle in focus or the target, not both at the same time. I haven't had a chance to shoot it outside yet so I don't know if it'll be any good at longer ranges either. It doesn't have enough eye relief for me either.

As you know, my plan for this gun is the Williams peep but I haven't gotten it yet. It's been out of stock at Natchez since December. Normally I'd just go somewhere else but they sell it for 10 bucks cheaper than anyone. So in the meantime, I just ordered an offset mount for the scope to help with the relief and I may just order a Leapers 3-9x32 AO for the heck of it, since that is supposed to focus down to 6 yds. Even if that scope doesn't stay on this gun, I figure it's always good to have a known good spare scope laying around when you're trying to chase down a grouping issue.

See what I just did right there? Don't you love how you learn to rationalize buying more gun stuff?

Phew! Glad I misunderstood.

I picked up a Centerpoint 2-7x to replace my lousy 4x to put on my R7. It can only focus at 10yds set at 3x or lower. Haven't had a chance to try that outside either, but temps are a'sposed to crawl into the mid 40s this week so I'm hoping to get out too.

Never hurts to have a good scope lying around... or a spare rifle even.

Hope yer peep shows up. Practicing with a permanent set up can be very helpful too. You know what to expect every time and yer always sighted in.
