O-ring lubricates?
«

Can I use Dielectric silicone compound on my O-rings? Says its used for electrical connections and spark plug boots to stop voltage loss and to waterproof connections? It was the only silicone they had and it was the last tube they had in stock, so I bought it.
Also, on the valve port. Does it take the flat O-rings on both sides of the port? When I took the breech apart there was one on the air tube side, but not on the barrel side. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Absolutely! It's what I always use. No sense paying a premium for a tiny amount of "diver's grease".

If you expose something with other-than-silicone in it to HPA, the risk of fire is not zero. Most silicone has petrochemical contaminants to one degree or another. On this I refuse to take a risk, and use the fluro stuff known as Krytox.
cheers,

It will work.
Kytox will work as well, but you're as likely to find that locally as you are to find Elvis.
Can also find pure silicon in Lowes/Home Depot plumbing supply (for lubing the washerless fixtures). Basically "food grade" silicon grease.
Have found it (for a lot more $) in camera shops for lubing the seals in underwater camera housings.

I looked at the exploded diagram of the disco and it appears there is only one o-ring on the bottom of the transfer port. I would have thought they would want one on each end to insure against any leaks. I looked on the tube for any information about ingrediants, but they are not listed. There is no MSDS either which I thought they had to list for chemicals.
