Great info and work on the gun Motorhead! I was just wondering what is the best way to empty the air cylinder? Shoot it empty or is there a faster way? Slowly unscrewing the air cylinder from the regulator?

Just take a plastic face hammer and strike back of the guns cocking hammer ..... SWOOOSH and it will empty right out.

you are getting a respectable 10 fpe from it .. plenty for shot range pesting out to 20-25 yards I would think.

Thank you for the illustrated post....haven't had a reason to get that deep inside (yet) and was wondering about some things that you helped clear up.

Did confirm a couple things I was thinking about.  The visual o-rings are that brown Vitron color.  Are holding air, so I'll not likely change them until soemthing goes stupid and I have to get all the way into the pistol.  for now, they hold air.  Possibly not a bad choice for the breech seal for lasting (Vitron is pretty good abrasion resistance).

Think you're right about the mark on the valve end, that hammer would have had to be dry fired on no-pressure for the valve stem to move in far enough to allow that.  Like the simple solution to that.

 Had the shroud and barrel off for a good cleaning.  Sat and stared at the parts until  thel little light when off in my head about how they really worked.  Evidently, the shroud end cap/ nut pushes the barrel IN (which keeps it from rotating and kind of locks it down).  First though twas that it tensions the barrel (stretches), but as there is no anchor at the rear end, it has to be an inward/compressive force rather than an outward tensioning force.

Anyway, while it shoots well, but that's one skinny/thin walled .22 barrel out there at the threaded end and it gave me some concerns.

(Can tell...am seriously thinking about a 2nd one in .177.)

Does seem the regulator needs a LOT of cycles to settle down, and even once it settles down. either it or the rest of the system won't be at 1% level...but it does quite well at a 3% level (lets say keeping shots at 740 +/- 10 fps).  Might get better as it goes along, but suspect that's about the limit of the system (which really is good 'nuff for whatever use).


These two have pretty much captured my pistol hunting (although I still like to use iron sights and get a little closer to the critter than I do using red-dots or scopes).




All I can say is this: if all of them are as good as the one I got, then can highly recommend them for the price.

I just received mine via usps today and I  rushed to my tank and filled to 200 bar slowly. I have not had a chance to install a scope but hit the targets in my back yard. Seems like a well made piece and for the $ I can not complain. I will adjust the hammer and mount a scope tonight hopefully.

Think the rubber block he added could be made to work in place of the O-rings....but it would be fiddly to get it just the right thickness.

i would like to make same thing like you with hw barrel which is cheap and chocked
so i plan to use longer barrel18inch)  and increase a lot the power of the gun (my hope is to set  this gun up to 25j)

Like my pp700 alot. Need to lighten the trigger a little and bump the power up a touch as well.  But the gun is a tack driver  and too much fun to shoot.

Really the only other place that I've used photobucket previously to this forum was in the Ajax chatrooms for show and tell basically, there's been one other major metal detecting forum that I used for many years however I uploaded all my pics there and they allowed very large photo's so quality wasn't an issue there.  I'm presently using flickr and I'm hoping they don't follow suite like photobucket did and start charging ridiculous prices in order to show pics 3rd party, who the heck do they think they are anyway.  I'll continue to leave photos that I have there and just leave my account in limbo just from spite.
