I am working on one of these also. What type of lube would be good for the piston tube. Would the white lithium grease be o.k. Wolfer

Never had one, but the drawing does not show a seal like their rifles. If you are looking to replace it, you will probably need to order one from Crosman.

Moly grease, or dupont  krytox  gpl 205. Lithium won't cut it.
While you're in there, try flipping the ram. I gained quite a bit of velocity,  by doing that with mine.

Just turn the piston around. It works both ways. Stock it has the skinny part of the gas ram in first. When you flip it insert the fat end of the ram into the gun first.



BTW: I found another post where someone said the piston seal is the same as the Nitro Venom seal.

Thats what I had done when I put it mine back together. I reversed the gas ram. My seal looked good so I didn't replace it. Just used some moly paste when I reassembled. I only picked up an average of 5 fps with crosman hollow points from doing this.

This pistol is how old? 4years  and no one makes a after market head/piston seal for it wow it looks like the seal industry is treating the Trail np pistol like a red headed step child. I have been to so many web sites and there is not one mention of the Benjamin Trail NP Pistol seal or seal kit. I was hopeing to use a seal of higher quality than what crosman supplies. Is there a list of all seal manufacturers  somewhere? maybe I'm  skipping over available info.

I realize this is a very old thread, however I am curious if there has been any devolvement on this since.   I have a trail Np pistol.  Would love to give it a once over and lube job.

I appreciate that, however I guess what I was wondering was are there now any quality upgraded parts or kits out there.  Or has anyone hit on interchangeable part secrets etc...
  I downloaded crosman's parts list for this gun and plan on ordering a few things.  Was just curious if there was a better option at this point, before I do.  After all it's been out for 9 ish years I think

Sorry I don't own one so have no more information than you do.

I'm just really surprised Crosman didn't use their common rifle piston seal in the pistol version.

As for aftermarket pistol piston seals, were there enough of these pistols made for anyone to spend the hefty tooling dollars to mold replacement seals?
 
I don't know the answer but I suspect not.

The Crosman/Benjamin spring piston rifles from that era (B19 family) were produced in much larger quantities over many years. Crosman has/had dozens of "different" rifles that were really the same rifle with different external dressings (stock,sights,muzzle-breaks,etc.). I think several of their current rifle lineup still uses that common piston seal. There are also many other brands of B19 style springers that use the same piston seal so the potential sales for that specific aftermarket piston seal are huge and expensive tooling (injection molds) costs can be justified. I've never purchased one of those $10-$20 aftermarket seals for any of my B19 style rifles because Crosman sold them to me for $1.60 and IMO the factory seals works just fine.

I think Crosman will have the parts you need and I'm certain they will have the lowest/best price for those parts. Good Luck!

I really should make a more specific thread.
 Thank you Michael for your input.     I agree with the crosman seals being fine.  My np pistol still shoots great.  I do not have a chrony so Im not sure if I have lost any power over the years.   But I'm sure it's got to be showing some signs of wear
