New Talon SS 80 shot string with group

Hello again fellow Talon SS owners. Is a nice day here in Cincinnati so I got out the New STOCK Talon, the Chrony. and a target lasered at 37 yards with some 14.3 grain Premier hollow points to see what I could get. This was done using a bipod off a shaky metal table on a pretty breezy morning and here are the results.......................call me impressed.

Forgot to add that all shots were taken off a 3000 psi fill with the power wheel set at 6. Last shot showed 2000 psi

IMO it is very quiet. The smack of the target is louder than the report of the gun. Really nice size for hauling around in the woods for squirrels too, which is why I got this riffle. I wanted something small to get through the brush easily. It fits the bill perfectly. Most of my other airguns are kinda big, bulky and heavy for hauling around all day for small game.

Dang 80 shots off one fill!? And less than 80 fps difference, color me impressed! Now I want my condor even more! Argh saving money blows! Was that with a .22?

Yes it is a .22. As for the Top Hat....I have made NO adjustments whatsoever. It is totally stock, and only the 2nd time I've had it out to shoot. On your Condor you will not get near that shot count from what I'm told.....probably not half that. Someone that currently owns one would have to chime in on that.

This is the first AF rifle of any model that I have seen un modified non regulated that got anywhere near 80 shots in a string from one fill. The string shows a true 60 shots or so if you want to keep ES down. But still I have never seen 60 shots even mentioned especially stock un modified and not even tuned. Both of my Talon SS would do 34 shots tuned and I could push to 40 if I wasnt trying long range.

The only thing I did before this shoot is verified the power wheel adjustment setting.....found where the REAL adjustments begin (in a different post) and set to the lowest "hi power" setting, which was 6. Sure the string started to fall after 60, but I was still impressed with 61 - 80 as far as accuracy and FPE. Perhaps I am a lucky one, or perhaps AirForce has made some changes to the newest versions of this model. I know I'M impressed.

They very well could have made adjustments. Recently people have had issues and contacted AF so they may be doing adjustments. If you regulate them and use a mid power setting you can  get allot of very consistent shots. Low power will get you an insane amount of shots regulated with a tank that size.

That's what I think I Airforce should either sell as an option, or at least sell the spring/top hat kit.
Not everyone wants the outrageous power that these guns are capable of.

But air force's option that they suggest to get higher shot count is "buy the micrometer tank" at about $200
But it doesn't come close to the U.K. Guns shot count.

The U.K. 12ftlb version gets like 500 shots per tank.

Speed cost air, there is no way around it, but with tuning, the efficiency can be increased.

80 shot on 1 fill that are actually usable is impressive! Thats a strong gun you have. Only time my condor came close to that was after alot of work and on a regulated tank. To do it bone stock is something to be proud of.

I have a talon on its way and this thread has me chomping at the bit even more now. Got the regged tank and a few other parts waiting. After reading your results i am really curious to see what i can do with it. Got the talon for the same reasons you did, smaller lighter setup for squirrel and gophers and just shooting. Man this thread has me excited!

Mine is the quietest of all my rifles and pistols.
