Pictures are dated 1989. Went over to my Grandmothers to introduce her to her great grand daughter and remembered that there was a picture of us shooting an air rifle in the HUGE stack of photo albums. I'll be danged if I didn't happen to pick up the right album on the very first try and the pictures were on the second page!

I would love to procure another of these rifles if possible. My own little slice of nostalgia.

It looks like a Crosman 66 pumper which I still have (got it in '83 I believe), or one of the other Crosman pumpers from the 80's, but NOT the 760. What you have there is one of the more powerful Crosman pumpers that they came out with in the early-mid 80's.

EDIT: Actually after looking at it more carefully it is not the 66. I do not see the cocking arm extend beyond the forend stock. I think they had a model called the 60 or maybe 600? They made several pumpers in that era but I can't remember. It could be yours is CO2? Can you tell us if it was CO2 or did you have to pump it?

So not that I don't trust you, but can anyone else positively identify this rifle? I'd like to start searching for one. I'm sure I'd be happy with anything similar and I probably wouldn't know the difference, but I'd still like to get the same exact model.

EDIT: it was definitely a pumper. IIRC we would only pump it one time.

Read my response again because I edited it. I have no clue what that gun is but it looks like a Crosman to me.

Do you remember how it was powered? CO2 or pump?

I seem to remember breaking a barrel open. But it could be that we had a pumper and a break barrel.

It does look similar to a 2200 doesn't it? All the pictures I just looked up on line have shorter barrels? Or is that an optical illusion?

Also I can not shake the feeling/rememberance that we broke the barrel open to load it. Maybe we started with the pumper and moved to a break barrel.

FWIW, my vote is a 2100. The painting on the receiver does kind of look like the markings on a 2200, though. Outside of that, no clue.

I have the 2100, 2100W, and 2200. The stock on that gun doesn't look like any of mine.

The longer/different barrel is what throws me off.

I can say with absolute confidence that it's not a break barrel. I see no pivot and it is a receiver/breech loader. The shape of the stock screams Crosman to me. The receiver says Crosman or even Daisy. The lack of the pump arm rules out Daisy. Got to admit... I'm baffled. I hope you sort it out and find one.

I agree I can see the loading port. I really think we may have had 2 air rifles at my grandpas house. The one I remember most I am almost sure was maybe a 3100-3300. But after looking at pics I remember it having a darker stock. Really something that looks and feels a lot like my HW30.

Go to the daisy gate and have a look at Toms(stonykill) thread on the Daisy 856...

It looks to me from the one pic( that you can see the writing is there) that it was the Eagle but it is hard to be sure it could have been the Cobra

could also be a 860

The reason I did not include the 840 is I remember the pump handle on those as always having been square not slanted on the receiver end... but I could be wrong...

Yep, 860 and 856 are the same thing, most 856's I've seen are black (I have two of them) and most 860's I've seen have brown stocks (I have two of these too...). I've taken both apart and they both look identical if I remember right...

I checked and they(856/860) did share the same manual... but it looks to be the 860 even though there were brown 856s the pump handle is more square-ish...

I found an add for the 860, more heft(@4+ lbs) than the 760 and rifled barrel and metal receiver were the selling points...

1989 was written on the back of the pictures. But could have been '88 easily.
