My new shooting " area"

 Well yesterday I decided to demolish the old one ( sorry no before pics taken ) and do some digging to build up sort of a berm . What I did was pile some dirt into the corner where I shoot, then contained it with some scrap wood  and then spread out the pile and dug up more dirt to pack in.       
It's still a work in progress but here it is
  for now I just have a pallet thing, a few other boards, and the stuff I normally shoot at. But I'll improve it as I think of things I can do. Actually here's a bad picture of what it looked like before it was basically just a long old piece of plywood across that corner, and an old cabinet with some old carpet draped over it. ( there were a couple hundred daddy long legs in there, plus about a dozen black widow eggs, but luckily only 2 black widows )

thanks Stefan !.the hard part about it was not having a handle for my shovel so I had to rigg up a hollow fiberglass broom handle to it ( not  ideal as its to skinny to grip well, and has a lot of flex to it ) I don't like to use anything but straight grained American hickory for a tool handle., because it lasts a long time, and is the best handle material Known to man. I just need to get myself some handles and do a proper restoration to all my grandpa's old shovel heads .Anyway it seems to work well as is but im sure I'll make improvements as I think of them.

Give them Black Widows some lead poisoning!!!!!
Sister-in-law got bit on the foot by one.
Caused her pain, discomfort, and money for months.
She was lucky as there did not seem to be a lot of venom in the bite.

we get them all of the time in our closed in back patio, and I'm very weary and careful not to get bit ( that's one of the reasons I always take my little 760 out with me every night when I take my dog out to go go " potty " )  I kill every single one I see ( one time I saw one hanging  on a web and was able to kill it in 1 shot with my airsoft shotgun from 10yds ) I don't need to get myself bit by one ( they say that a bite can be fatal to children ) and I'm only 5'6 and 115lbs so it probably wouldn't be good news I was so mad when I found out that they can play dead, I was freaking out wondering how many I thought I killed but we're just playing dead

my wife bought me a pretty fancy little airgun off the internet. It shoots salt. At closer ranges it obliterates spiders and bugs.
I did NOT know they play dead. Yikes.
I used to run a trap line. I would get opossums and have some fun with some. Now some his and try to bite you.
Others play dead.  When they play dead, and using heavy leather gloves, I release them from the trap.
I grab them by the scruff of the neck and their tale.  Then walk over to a handy pole or tree. Starting about
shoulder high, put the opossum feet side against the side of the tree, and start pulling downwards. It may take
more than one try, but they will grab onto the tree and hold on.  Then you let go, back up a step, and using a heavy wood bat
with a nail extending about on inch towards one end, take a home run swing on the opossum.
I used them for baiting fox and coyote traps.

I've seen the bug a salt before, but have never tried one, they also came out with a pistol version, but I don't like to get close to black widows so I usually use an airsoft gun or 8 pumps in ol' blue ( streaks push a lot of air )
