RWS 34 Spring and Seal Lifespan

I have put about 1500 shots through my RWS 34. This gun is real accurate and fun to shoot. On calm days I can shoot 1/4" ctc groups at 20 yards 3/8" groups at 30 yards and 9/16" at 40 yards.

I am just inclined to shoot my D34 in stock form until the spring and seal go out, then I will build a spring compressor and install a Maccari or Vortex tune kit.

My question: How long can I expect the stock spring and seal to last?

On both of my 34s the spring broke in about a month. Then after a tune they lasted 6 months before I sold them. Then 34 is really a nice accurate gun. Maybe referred to as "meat & tater' gun, but very fun and does the job.

My .177 34 still going strong after 14 months and 3-5000 pellets. My .22 only has 500+ shots and was opened up and lubed after first 50.

The lifespan of these consumables is unknown.  You could order the replacements now to have on hand when the inevitable occurs.

My Diana 34 (.177) is a 2000 model still running the original spring.  The piston seal was replaced a couple of years ago due to abuse by  the prior owner (shooting nails).

I also have a 1969 Diana 35 with the original spring and seal (leather) after countless rounds.

Newer parts may not fare as well as older ones.  It's really hard to say.

I usually get 3-4,000 shots on a factory spring.

With the aftermarket JM or Vortek springs, I typically get between 10,000 and 30,000 shots.

Seals often last longer than springs.

That is a LOT of shooting.
