An interesting first full spring day! First early in the afternoon I saw a nutter headed up a tall pine tree that had 2 crows at the top ( this was about a hundred yards out, they don't nest there but hang out there sometimes) I got my binoculars to see what was going to happen and saw the 2 crows go down after the nutter . The Nutter turned around and was going back down when 2 more crows came after him and he ran back up as the 2 in the top resumed their harassment. The poor nutter was going up and down the tree for several minutes with the 4 crows taking turns. Finally he jumped to another pine and made his getaway.
Then around 3pm I saw this reddish flash of fur run across my yard and looked to see a red fox! He poked around some bushes for a short time and then walked off. The first thing I thought of was it might be rabid to be out in the day but it looked like it was ok . That's the first fox I have ever seen in my yard or anywhere in person.

Spring is wonderful.

When hunting zombie starlings, there are two approaches. The first approach is the "Double-Tap". The alternative is cutting their heads off and putting toothpicks through their hearts.
It's your choice.

Cool story. The spring sight I always look forward to is the starlings going into "nesting mode"

If it was easy it wouldn't be hunting it would be shopping.

I love to see the bass, bream, and sacalait as they are fanning their beds in shallow water, preparing for the spring spawn. And nothing beats the sight of a spring gobbler strutting his stuff along the edge of a field.
