I know, I know, you are thinking why didn't he go .30. Been asking myself that too, but not many pellet choices in .30. Maybe when there are more options we will have to explore that idea.

C'mon... tell him the truth... The only reason you didn't go .50 cal is that you were afraid they would ooze out of the barrel, and land on your feet.

Eric, With a 50 cal. barrel, it would just pass a little gas. Add note to breech, load with tweezers.

Those .50 pellets are heavy, that would hurt!

To be clear since this involves a bit more precision than me gnawing on it with my teeth, Stalwart it doing the hard parts. I am just going to bother the mailman until it gets here.

Cut to length, still needs crown and finished.

Ended up 11.5 inches. Stalwart says this is to fit into a box for shipping, but I think he just wanted the rest for himself!
Kidding of course, it will go into another project. At least it keeps him off the streets.

It will be on the low side for sure.
The most Eric/Stalwart has ever gotten out of a P17 was 4.8fpe, that was a .22. Based on my probably wrong and limited understanding, this could be a little higher just because of the larger caliber having a larger surface area to push against. Assuming that is right, and we know what assuming does, let's call it 5fpe, which would be 300fps with a 25 grain pellet.

I think that is plenty of power to humanely take tallboys and other beverage containers.

If it is too much lower we will explore MSP. Until we get some shots over the chrony this is all just guessing.

So we have 4.1ft/lbs on the low end. I think that is plenty of smack down for feral tallboys.

Those are questions for Eric/Stalwart who is the one having fun doing the shooting. There is still some work to do before he ships it to me.

I can say making it a multi-pumper would be one approach.

Matt, it is a blast to shoot. It actually has a kick! And, it hits like a freight train... eventually.

There may be some power to be found in porting it, but any real increase will have to come through MSP. Judging by the report (low volume, no "crack") there is a lot of steam left to be had within that barrel length.

What is the port size? I have 3/16" t-port in my .25 pumper.
