One way to fill your Edge stock

If you've ever gotten pellets from PA or AGD you have some of these laying around and they make great stock filling. I also used some 100% silicone to coat them with and I'll show you why.
The first pic is the stock with the action out. The places in the red boxes are the only 2 places inside the stock where the action is supported. Everything in between is empty space and nothing supporting the action...probably why more vibration and probably why the stocks crack.
Second pic is the empty space under the butt pad. Take your pellet foam and cut a wedge like in Pic 3. Cut a little of each side off that tip so it fits better. Pic 4 I coated the tip and all 4 sides about 3/4's of the way with silicone. As you slide it in, the silicone will push up and coat the rest. Let it sit for an hour  or so so the silicone sets, Air will get in through the foam to help.
I cut another piece to fit in the top part, put a layer of silicone, coated the block I cut and pushed it in, Pics 5 and 6. Same for this part, another hour or so for the silicone to set up.
Now finish it off with a last layer of silicone, let it set up and then put the butt pad back on. Might be a little tight as the butt pad has those teeth on the inside, Pic 7, but when it's done, no more vibration between the foam and silicone.
Now just do the same with the pistol grip and you're all set. Doesn't add more than a few ounces of weight and even helps balance out the rifle a little.

I filled my Webley Spector and Edge with silicone & added a few lead balls to the mix. Made a huge difference in the felt vibration/twang, especially with the Spector (Springer). Your method might be better because the silicone takes a LONG time to cure. I kept filling it, then left the rifle standing on its' muzzle for a day or 2, then repeat, then repeat a number of times. Like you said, using the foam would allow air to get in there and speed drying time. I stuck my finger into mine a bunch of times to get air in there.

I has been racking my brain thinking of using spray foam and seran wrapping the steel and using tape to keep it off all the things you didn't want it on. This seems better than the spray.

I believe heavier guns shoot better. I filled the green composite stock of my .20 Webley VMX springer with old recovered pellets and cheap freeby pellets. If I didn't have old pellets I'd buy several rolls of pennies and put a barrel weight on it. I got one filled with black powder round balls and bullets. That works for me.

I actually tried spray foam first and it dries nice on top but underneath turned into a wet nasty mess because it never dried. The foam and silicone adds weight but as a guess between the butt and pistol grip, I'd guess it still doesn't weight more than 7 pounds unscoped which is what I was after: keeping it lighter weight.
There's a creek behind the house where most of the unwanted pests wander up from and the bank leading down to it is something like a 45+ degree slope and 50 feet or so down to the water and I wanted something lighter than my Model 95 that if I have to go down that bank after something, I don't have a 9+ pound rifle in hand doing it. It was easy as a kid but I'm closing in on 53 and it's not so easy anymore....lol

That's an idea.

On the spray foam, I wonder if someone sprayed a little in, let it dry then spray some more so on and so on. Might take several days to do it would that work and have it dry thru and thru.

Rule #1: No one touches my guns...lol...besides, the "shooting caddie" is my 9 year old great niece and she's not allowed anywhere near that bank.

For the spray foam, it would probably work layered in but the foam packing from PA pellet tins is way denser and with the silicone filling the gaps you can't get the foam in everything fills real nice and you can do the whole thing in less than a day. Also don't need to protect the action as it's blocked off from the butt and pistol grip so no worries about getting anything on it.
I suppose if you wanted to add some weight you could when when you add that top piece in...maybe just use straight silicone and embed steel shot or Tim's penny roll idea or whatever else solid you could press into the silicone...old lead tire weights come to mind but from shooting mine, the 100% silicone is a definite help with vibration.
Also don't forget the pistol grip, it's hollow too....just a weird thought maybe but the silicone and some old BB's mixed and pressed into the pistol grip...it's a tight squeeze getting stuff in there to fill it but it's a thought....too many ideas and not enough rifles to try them on...lol

I use pure silica. It packs tight and doesn't weigh a whole lot.

I went with the spray foam on my Hatsan Striker. Little at a time but it worked out. I began all the way up in there with the hose extention and just worked my way out. I then layed the gun on some newspaper and let it expand where ever it wanted. After it dried I trimmed the extra off and put the butt pad back on.  A couple small spots had to be cleaned up with goo gone and alcohol. I do like your idea tho. Probably go that route next time. As for the Daisys... I put a handful of #8 shot in there then filled them up with silicone. They can use the weight. Balanced them out real good. Mind you, these are the metal receiver and pump arm variants.

  I used plumber's putty . Put it into a quart size freezer bag , squeezing all the air out,  & you can wad it into the stock cavity , easily, & it doesn't shift around. If you decide you want more or less , just take some out, since it doesn't dry out, or add some more in another bag.

Wally World still sells Play-Doh...I made the mistake of taking the 10 year old great niece on my last trip so she could buy stuff with Christmas gift cards...I don't recommend this btw...just don't...really...I was done in under 15 minutes, the other hour and 45 minutes was spent wandering aimlessly from clothes, to 5 toy aisles, to make-up, to jewelry, to candy, to the deli of all places, plus a phone call from her mother asking if I was ready to toss her over my shoulder and drag her out yet.

Maybe duct seal like what is used in pellet traps? Same sort of consistency as silly putty without the guilt from the grand kids/nephews/nieces/whatevers.
