I'm shopping for a scope and wondering if a medium pair of UTG 1-piece rings will give enough clearance for a 4-12x50 scope?

It depends on the gun, but I doubt it.

I think you will need high mounts for the 50mm scope. I have a 44mm objective and with UTG mediums and have just over 1/8 inch of clearance. Also my barrel sits a little lower than my breech which helps.

The LGU is almost the same design as the HW97k, so it wont work.
I have a HW97K with 40mm scope with medium rings and the gap is less than 1/8 of an inch.
