I think in the current world we live in, non detergent oil is fine. Realistically, so is detergent oil. I don't think anyone uses silicone O rings anymore, except for vegetable oil apps....Pelgun oil has it's roots in diesel oils which is the highest detergent of all....
Check again. Co2 Paintball tanks some Airgunners use use silicone oringsI have been shooting my condor and Talon indoors using co2 paintball tanks during the winter as it is less powerful than HPA.I developed a slow leak on my Airforce co2 adapter, so I dropped a couple of drops of pelgun oil in the rear of the adapter, and screwed a new tank on, when it was empty a few hours (and 1/2 a tin of pellets) later, I unscrewed the tank, the paintball oring was HUGE swollen like a balloon. I wiped it down, and over the course of 2 days it returned to normal size. None of my orings had done that until I put the pelgun oil in the area of the oring. So what ever is in it, doesn't go well with silicone paintball orings.
