Years ago a TV showed that a screwdriver tip dipped in motor oil could be held by the thumb and finger, while one dipped in STP was too slippery to grip. Many of us proved it to ourselves. I recently added some STP to my 30 wt. air gun oil and found they pump noticeably smoother and easier.

I couldn't find much about the effect of ZDDP on plastic and rubber? I did read that it's designed to bond to steel. There's conflicting information about the benefits or possible damage it does in a car engine? If I were you I would shoot that stuff through your rifle and buy some Secrete Sauce from Mac1. Maybe someone else will chime in that knows a little more about it. Until you know more I wouldn't use any more of it.Bryan
I have always been under the impression that petroleum based oils will ruin the seals in air guns and that either silcone or plant or animal based oils should be used..?Is it Ok to use non-detergent 30wt oil? Before I knew better I ruined seals in two of my old pump Benji rifles using 3inOne oil in them.

nd 10w30 is exactly what's recommended in the Daisy manuals. I would still be using it if I didn't get 2 bottles of SS in my reseal kits.

I would still be using it if I didn't get 2 bottles of SS in my reseal kits.Maybe it's just a pet peeve of mine, but you continually tell people that Daisy recommends ND 10w30. Daisy does NOT recommend this. The designation 10w30 indicates a "multi weight oil". There are very few ND multi weight oils. (I've only even seen one and it was in the lawn and garden section of Home Depot and I think it was 10w40 IIRC)Daisy recommends ND oil in 10, 20 or 30 Weight. What I fear happening here is that readers will not have the "attention to detail" (as brought up by StonyKill) and see 10W30 on the oil and think that it is Non-Detergent.
I switched over from Crosman's "Pellgunoil", to 30 weight nondetergent oil, maybe a year ago in all of my multipumpers. They are all working just fine. The Pellgunoil is crazy expensive. $2.99 for 1/4 ounce, as opposed to Ace Hardware has 30 wt ND oil for about $4.50 for a whole quart. There are 32 fluid ounces in a quart. Pellgunoil come in a quarter of asn ounce tube. So, 4x32=128. A quart has 128 times more oil than a tube of Pellgunoil. At $2.99for a tube, that's $2.99 x 128= $383.72. You'd spend $383.72 in buying enough Pellgunoil to equal a quart of 30wt ND oil that you can buy for $4.49. Let's say that 30 wt ND oil destroyed my Crosman Model 66, which I bought new for $40.00. For the savings I get using 30 wt ND oil, I could buy nine new Model 66's. And, the 30 wt ND oil is keeping my airguns running like finely tuned watches. Now, the ND oil isn't red like Pellgunoil. Is the difference in color worth $380?? Not to me. Buy yourself a little drop at a time oil can, a quart of 30 wt ND oil from Ace (or wherever), and you are set for many years of shooting. Mark that 30 wt oil bottle "ND" in big letters, so you don't accidently grab a bottle of a detergent oil when you fill that oil can. You could buy yourself a really nice air rifle with the money you save. You could almost get a new Benjamin Discovery PCP air rifler, WITH the hand pump, for what you are saving. Hey, that would be a good argument for me to use as to why I need a new airgun...............to the wife , of course........

You'll never use a quart if you live to be a 100.
You have spent a lot of money on an air gun why not spend a little more for the best lube around. Secret Sauce ! http://www.mac1airgunshop.com/secret-sauce-small-dripper-2-fl-oz-p/m1ss2po.htm
Holy cow, I thought I shot a lot. I shoot about 1,000 rounds a month and I think I used the same tube of Pellgun Oil for two years!
