Scope on Hatsan 95

Is the scope that comes with the .22 cal Hatsan 95(3-9X32) good or durable? I have a CVlife 3-9X40 Airgun scope, and am wondering the one the gun comes with is good.

And if you order it off Amazon, do you get the scope also?

The 3x9 Optima is OK for a starter scope. Some are better then others.
As a rule I Use?
If it came with the Gun I'll replace it.

There's a couple threads on Optima scopes and life expectancy in the Turkish Gate. They're a usable starter but don't expect them to last long. The Model 95 is a great rifle though, you won't regret buying one...just put that CV scope on it.

Mine has lasted 300+ shots just fine.

Ive upgraded to a UTG scope though.

Comparing the two, it's night and day. It's fine for learning.But you will upgrade it at some point.

My 95 is so violent it turns on the illuminated recticle of my scope just by firing the gun.

Mine got upgraded to a Hawke 4-12x50 AO IR...I got a little crazy on a rainy day...

Hey HAGAML,
The sub-Optima Scope that comes on the Hatsan 95 is a TPOC .
Don't frustrate yourself.
A Hawke 3x9x40 is perfect for the gun and costs about $85, get the UTG 1 piece (offset) mount too.

My first 95 was a .25, and it toasted the scope in less than a couple hundred shots. They replaced it, and it failed soon after. I. Then bought a .22 and a .177, and promptly destroyed those scopes in short order.

Three 95's...four scopes...four failures.

I have a CP 4-16x40AO on the .25 and having good luck. Still looking for scopes for the other ones.

If you have a pumper you can put it on they seem to hold up, all the better if you upgrade it to an AO for$20.  Got my upgrade on a Daisy 880.  Clarity is not great but OK for the ranges its got sufficient FPE.

For hunting, side focus is faster though.  Got a Simmons to replace it - currently off to the factory for them to adjust close up focus for better than 15 yds.

Biggest issue with the non AO's is understanding parallax.  They do hold up better on a tuned gun, but once you try one with adjustable focus you will want that $20 upgrade...

All of a sudden it shot 2 foot high and 6 inches right and wouldn't adjust.  I have had better luck with cheap Centerpoint 4x32 s than with that particular scope. Lots of stories on here about the unreliability of this particular scope.

Yes, you are absolutely right.  The Optima's should not be placed on any gun that has not settled down yet, and then still it may not last very long depending on how much FPE and your luck of the draw.  For the most part I think it is useful if you have a 30 day return policy to use it initially just to make sure you got a decent shooter and then like I said --- only after it has had enough rounds fired to settle down.  Detonation or dieseling will kill it quick.

Mine is holding up very well so far on my Daisy 880 (pneumatic, multi-pump).  If you have use for it on your 397 or 392 for instance, I think an upgrade like I did - $20 for an AO - is worth it.  If you still have your broken one, I'd think unless it has been over a year they will allow you to update it to an AO for the same $20 I did on mine.

My Titan was well broken in and settled in when I put this scope on it. I got it with my Edge I bought, and thought that the Titan didn't have as much recoil as the Edge. I guess I was wrong. should have used it on my pump guns as there is no recoil on them. Oh well " luck of the draw" as with all things airguns .

Even if it's been a year it couldn't hurt to ask them, $20 for an AO that will hold up on the pump guns is worth it to me ... not only that, but they didn't want me to ship them back the defective one, even though I offered.

Heck, if you don't want it I'd offer to send you the $20 for the upgrade one were it not for the cost of double-shipping and the hassle of having to box it up (not to mention it could get destroyed in shipping).  When you add it all up - when I did it for me it was one heck of a deal because I put it on my Daisy 880, but not so great a deal I'd risk having it turn into a headache...

I think the biggest value on the Optima line is just what you said, get it broke in, and if it lasts 40 rounds that might be enough to know if you are keeping it or sending it back for 30 day replacement should it have a bad barrel, etc.  This is especially true on guns that don't have iron sights or the sights are not dialing in within range!

Save the Optima for a low power gun. A magnum will break a CV Life. They're cheap. It might last a while on a 95. My 135 broke a Hawke. I got a UTG on it now. Hammers are pretty tuff.
