Last week's hunt.

Took my nephew out for wild birds last week. Usually he take care of the collared dove that get caught in our flight but this time he got to try the real deal. We set him up in the milking barn gave him a ghillie and a stacked some tumble weeds around him. He was belly down in the weeds and dirt while a friend and I crept out the back and started working the cattle shelters and barns at the far side of the dairy trying yo push everything his way. It was so fun seeing him get excited over his bird. His dad was a marine corps scout sniper....... striking resemblance lol

I think he has A.D.D. his brilliant smart and with the right task he is extremely focused but he gets bored and the figity. With hunting as long as he knows they are there and can see them the drive to get a bird out weighs yhe need to figit. He has to stay busy, like a coon hound lol he'll drive you nuts unless you keep him wore down and active.

There are few things I find more rewarding than taking a youngster out hunting, fishing, or bicycle riding. Good for him and good for you too.
