Crossman premier hallow point pellets, deformed skirts

Hello, I've noticed a lot of the skirts on my tin of pellets have a small deformation on the ends of the skirts like little nipples and flares on the ends. Is this normal? I have been setting then aside and not using those, will they cause damage to the breech seal over time? Who makes solid quality pellets with minimal deformations? Or have I just got a bad tin? Would alloy pellets not have this?

I shoot a bunch of Crosman premier HPs. And I find them to be among the more uniform, and consistent. I have three virtually full tins of Daisy pellets; and I bet there isn't one round skirt amongs the lot of them.

I have yet to experience such flaws with the Crosman Premier Hollow Points. If they do not touch your breech seal they can't damage it. Be sure they''re properly seated. The flawed ones may be "fliers" but they won't hurt the gun.
At that price point, Crosman is probably as good as it gets. I think next up in price is the RWS Super Dome, which seems to be a good looking pellet. You can also try JSB and H&N, depending on what you wish to spend.
In any case your gun needs to pick its favorite (or most consistently accurate) pellet.

I've had those molding defects in both .177 and .22, sometimes very pronounced. Head sizes are also quite variable. In my experience, they sometimes shoot better than they look but over time, I've come to the conclusion that they represent a poor value, and I say that as a very budget-minded airgunner. What I mean is that pellets from JSB and H&N are an affordable luxury...a premium product at an affordable price. The enjoyment I get from shooting a sub-MoA group at 40-50 yards is worth 3 cents a pellet versus 1.5 cents a pellet. Multiple inexpensive PCP rifles will do that with JSB (or the Air Arms brethren). I can't say that for Crosman pellets except on rare occasion. And for hunting purposes, the value is even more than that.
I look at it this way: you can't help but notice that guys who shoot airguns at the highest levels of competition use JSB more than any other brand. And when folks post absurdly small groups at ranges from 50 - 100 yards or more, invariably it's a JSB.
I don't fault anyone whose experience disagrees but as long as JSB continues to perform the best in my rifles, it's a small price to pay for the enjoyment of the sport.

I have had the same problem with Crosman and Daisy pellets. After trying every pellet I could get my hands on, I stumbled upon some Swiss Arms pellets. My guns get along ok with the Crosman's at up to 40' but not over. My Winchester 1000 and Crosman NP love the Swiss Arms at 25yds and over. I will stick with them from here on out.

Those pellets are great for plinking cans at 25yds.

I contacted crossman.com explained my issue's,sent them some photos of the pellets in question. They responded by saying they are sending me a replacement tin of pellets, with a 4-6wks ship time. So I guess I'll keep inspecting the ones I have until the replacements get here. That is great CS from crossman in opinion.
